This restaurant surprised me and I overall enjoyed it. I ordered the chicken Marsala and I don't think I would get it again but I look forward to going back and trying some of the Cajun items.

Stookey's Bar-b-que has been around a LONG time - ate there as a kid and that was a lot of years ago. It's still a great place to get a quick meal - or take out. The meat for the barbeques is sliced paper thin - and I fee that's the key. Whether you like pork, ham, turkey or beef, they are flavorful and satisfying. I'd have to say the beef and sometimes the turkey can be on the dry side - but not too dry to enjoy. We always order with extra relish, and that takes care of any dryness. The place changed hands in recent years, and there have been some changes to the iconic sandwich I knew as a kid. The bun is different, not bad, just different. It's not a fancy place but it's clean and comfortable. The staff are generally high school kids - so it can be hit or miss with courtesy and helpfulness. Stopped in on a Sunday evening about a year ago - and walked in to loud rock music and the smell of cigarette smoke. Not what I was expecting or had ever experienced before in this family establishment. We let the owner know about it - and it hasn't happened again.

OUR FIRST VISIT: The menu offered so many things to choose from it was a difficult decision, but we finally decided to try the Build-a-Burger. There are a variety of toppings to choose from (most are complimentary but some toppings are an extra charge). The burger comes on a toasted ciabatta bun with fries. Done just the way we like 'em, nice and juicy. This is definitely on my top three best-burgers-in-the-valley list. The fries were very good too.OUR SECOND VISIT: We ordered the Sicilian pizza. The sauce is a little on the sweet side and the crust is nice and crunchy. Another winner!! And the beer is ice cold!!OUR THIRD VISIT: I had the Fried Fisherman Platter and my husband had the Fried Cod dinner (on the Lent menu). Both came with fries and coleslaw, and again, both were very good. Our servers have always been efficient and friendly. We'll be back again and again!!

Overall Rating: Okay to Excellent…Dependent On What You Order WHERE: Baker Boys Corner Bistro (Located on the Corner of Prospect & Hanover Streets) 400 S Hanover St, Nanticoke PA PHONE: 570.258.3700WHEN: Saturday, 2017.0829 @ approximately 7:30pmCOST: 2 Guests / Eat In - Total Cost $24.12 (Excluding the Tip)COMMENT: This Little Corner Bistro has Potential…The chalkboard wall menus/décor were quite interesting and neatly done, however, the ambiance needs improving. Get rid of the bar! The bar only invites loafers to come in, sit down, take up space, and distract the counter employee. Match the theme… Upgrade to cozy upholstered high back booths with attractive overhead lighting for each. Add some pleasant background music to reduce the clamor while somewhat camouflaging the personal conversations going on among the employees. And Voila… More Inviting to Customers! FOOD:Pierogi – Farmers Cheese - VERY GOOD! They are prepared deep fried; we ordered them with the Optional Butter & Onions. My husband loved the Pierogi and said he would order them again. I’m not a big fan of Pierogi, but I tried them too—to my surprise, they were “Very Good” and the “Cheese Filling was the Best” I’ve ever had—Fresh & Creamy! Only thing is, if you prefer a soft Pierogi, you had better let them soak up some of the butter and eat them while they’re still warm otherwise they get a bit hard after sitting.(Ah, Ah, Ah Worker Bee!… Food (frozen pierogi) should never be thrown! Especially in front of the customers…You know who you are! ; )Wings – Teriyaki Wasabi – EXCELLENT! Took a bite and thought I died and went to heaven! After my first bite of these Absolutely Delicious Wings, I imagined there were “6 Angel Wings” on my plate! Whodda Thunk! Teriyaki and Wasabi Together – Just happens to be two of my favorite flavors! A match made in Heaven Folks! YOU MUST TRY THESE! Seriously – these are the BEST WINGS I have ever eaten! AND…No upcharge for the side of Celery & Blue Cheese that came with them… YUMMM!California Burger: A quarter pound burger with Lettuce, Tomato, Onion, and Mayo with 3 Pickle Chips on the Side. Not sure what kind of bun it was, but the bun was big and had a hard surface. Unfortunately, I’m not too fond of hard rolls. Anyway, I was actually full after the wings and pierogi, so I took my burger to go. Therefore, I can’t honestly provide an opinion on the burger.Sicilian Pizza: My husband chose the 6 Cut option. He said he thought the pizza was good. I tried a little taste and wasn’t too crazy about it; the sauce tasted pasty. It reminded me of a store bought frozen microwavable pizza.DRINKS: We chose nothing special for our drinks. I ordered a fountain soda, RC Cola, and my husband ordered a can of Mountain Dew—Both were fine; my fountain RC wasn’t too syrupy and had enough bubbles. Our server was quite thoughtful of to ask my husband if he would like a glass of ice for his drink.Overall, our server (a young lady) was quite efficient and knowledgeable. To reiterate, some of our choices were “EXCELLENT”… other items didn’t make much of an impression. Will we be back again? ABSOLUTLEY! -- Baker Boys Corner Bistro definitely has POTENTIAL!!! If you decide to give it a try, be sure to order the “Teriyaki Wasabi Wings! – They are “To Die For!” … YUMMM!
