Old Town

After being leveled when the Nazis left, this whole neighborhood of cobblestone Gothic streets and alleyways, baroque palaces, numerous churches and tiered burghers' houses were masterfully reconstructed to reflect the atmosphere of bygone days.

don´t miss it - it´s a gem of a place with a mix of restored/rebuilt old architecture, communist buildings and a raft of new shiny blocks being built - and the people in general are the friendliest - love Warsaw love Poland!

The Living Museum of Gingerbread

The Living Museum of Gingerbreads in Toruń is the first so interactive museum in Europe. It has existed since 2006 and it is located at 9 Rabiańska street, in the middle of the city center. It all takes place in the Medieval Bakery under the watchful eyes of Gingerbread Master. Visitors prepare dough by themselves and bake their own gingerbreads. Another floor is a manufacturing room from the early 20th century where we teach how to decorate gingerbreads with an icing. We welcome all those who want to learn about the tradition of baking gingerbreads in Toruń and its medieval culture. All of this happens in a fantastic atmosphere with a great deal of humor. The visit in our Museum is fun and joy for everyone, no matter what age you are.

It was a fantastic experience. We had so much fun. The actors are fantastic and so charismatic. Our group was mainly Polish, but my boyfriend is English and one staff member was translating everything for him - thank you so much for this. I recommend this place to all of my friends that are travelling to Torun. If I will visit Torun again I will definitely come and bake some pierniki again :)

If in Warsaw do plan a day to relax in this massive park and enjoy the green area, large pond, peacocks, swans, etc... then the squirrels :) and finally but not least the actual royal residence. We could have spend the whole day there that is if we did not have other plans.

A great place to visit if you are in the area, 10pln to enter. Small shop just outside the gate to buy snacks.
Huge investment recently for use as a wedding venue. But this is well hidden away and doesn't spoil the place.
Toilet facilities are fantastic, you would be hard pressed to find better anywhere.

Old Market Square

Reviewed By BettyFordBarfly - Herts

Poznan has a beautiful old town square which is surrounded by bars and restaurants. There were a few market stalls in the centre selling souvenirs. At noon every day a crowd gathers to watch the rutting goats appear at the top of the town hall. There were also live goats for petting on a Sunday morning. There are many angles from which you can take lovely photos of the square, although I'm not sure how anyone permitted the awful modern building attached to the beautiful old architecture in the centre!

Mill's Island (Wyspa Mlynska)

Natural Island in the middle of the city of Bydgoszcz. Important strategic asset during the Kingdom era

Reviewed By Ewelina-EW - Oslo, Norway

It is a nice island on the river. When we were there it was full of small shops and stands selling beer and food. There is a lot of space to chill there on the grass. Close to a few museums and the old town.
