Excellent place to stay

This place is incredible. I went with my wife and kid and we had a suite in the main lodge. The location is stunningly beautiful, the lodging is very nice, and the staff are helpful and friendly. Plus, there's good stuff to do nearby, and there are a hot tub and sauna on site. What more could you want?

Spacious, clean and well-equipped cabins

Reviewed By Annukri

We were very pleasantly surprised by the standards of our 2-bedroom cabin! Given that the booking website did not provide photos from inside the cabins (and our previous experience with such cabins elsewhere has been rather dreadful), we were expecting the worst. However, our cabin was spacious and bright with running water and a sufficiently equipped kitchen. It was obvious the cabin had been cleaned, and fresh linen was already on the bed and included in the price. It was also great to have an in-house shower and toilet, although the shower could do with a small repair of the water outflow. The effort from the owner to provide a cozy cabin is greatly appreciated. Would definitely stay here again.

You find our hotel resort in the heart of the Lofoten Islands, in picturesque Mortsund harbor. In a place where fishermen once spent the season in rorbuer built at the water’s edge you will treat yourself to a truly authentic Lofoten experience. Our cabins offer up to three bedrooms and feature ensuite bathrooms and kitchenettes. Ask for a private balcony. You can catch your meal right at your doorsteps or book dinner at our restaurant. Mt. Middagstinden waits for you to enjoy the sensational view over our bay. Leknes airport is within reach, and so is the Hurtigruten stop at Stamsund harbor (20 minutes each). Popular destinations on the Vestvågøy island – such as the Haukland and Unstad beaches, Mt. Skottinden or the Viking Museum are just a stone’s throw away.

Amazing location by Vestfjorden

Statles Rorbuer are newly built flats, basically, with a great location around 20 mins drive from Leknes. Great area for hiking, fishing and the general Lofoten experience. We had a great rorbu with outdoor seating, two bedrooms, two baths and a living room with a kitchen section. A bit surprising that they only provide 4 glasses, 4 plates etc - means you will need to do dishes or run the dishwasher if you stay more than one night. But everything was clean and check-in fast.

The staff is super nice, it’s clean and a lot of stuff to do around here.

We can host individual guests and groups of up to 35 people, conferences and meetings for up to 30 guests and weddings and other family events for up to 45 guests . And Ongajok offers a broad range of activities, both in summer and winter. On snowmobiles we take you to a breathtaking tour up the mountains. In summer you can walk with the huskies and in winter you can go on a dog sledding tour. And our own reindeer enclosure is an attraction all the year round.

Small piece of heaven

Went to this peaceful and very both beautiful and relaxing place after a long drive to Nordkapp with following hike to knivskjellodden. The drive here is so worth it, its a little far from everything else, and the "road" there is bumpy and only getting smaller, but I loved it all the way. The food there is very delicious, the staff is from around the world and very friendly and helpful. Do sleep here a night or two if you are in the area it's so worth it!

The Pilegrim route travels through our courtyard, and there are many hiking routes. Places for overnight accommodation in Dovrefjell, Rondane and Dovrefjell national park are situated one day hike from us. The musk ox is the most exotic creature you can meet at Dovrefjell. We recommend a guided trip, either on foot, arranged every day in the summer season by our neighbours at Hjerkinnhus or Furuhaugli, or on horseback every Saturday by us. Hjerkinn Fjellstue and Fjellridning is the only place in the world offering musk ox safari on horseback!

Mountainside paradise

When the sign above the gate reads (in Norwegian) "Nightly for Travelers Through 1200 years" you know you are walking into history. Hjerkinn Fjellstue is a lovely property situated along the St. Olavs Ways, or pilgrimsleden. It has a lovely view of mountains and lake. There are horses to ride, bicycles to rent, and PFDs near the entrance hinted at boat rentals. The rooms are clean and well-appointed. The lobby has comfortable seating for groups and individuals, with a quieter library nook upstairs. The dinner buffet is delicious and varied, with a fantastic selection of cheeses and bread. The breakfast buffet is ample, and bags and wraps are available so you can pack your matpakke for whichever adventure you decide to choose for the day. My most beautiful pictures from two weeks in Norway were taken within one hour's hike from here. I can't wait to return!

Four friends enjoyed three nights at this modern and friendly location 1430 m along the spectacular road on Sognefjellet. We had booked the best rooms with a view towards the Smørsstabbbreen glacier, with separate bathroom. Clean and rather simple with a fantastic mountain view. Very friendly and welcoming staff always helping us with everything. Good and varied three course meals with not the cheapest ingredients (like halibut). Good breakfast too. Two marvellous tracking days in sunshine and blue skies also supported the great impression on this place.
