I love this place! They have these paletas, in all the fruit flavors you could dream of! Paletas are fruit popsicles, water or milk based. Simply wonderful. And for those who crave spicy; Diana Lorena has created all kinds of pickle, as one would say in Spanish, one better than the next! Her knowledge is bountiful! Diana Lorena is quite an expert. Don’t miss out, you will come back for more.

We got a tuk tuk from Gracias (100 Lempira) to the visitor centre which is undergoing building work. After some confusion a man arrived on motorbike and issued us with our tickets (120 Lempira). We signed the book, we were the only hikers in the park. The walk is well sign posted and easy to follow but steep in places as you climb from 1400m to 2000m through forest. We had a good view of the Cascada and the round trip took about 3.5 hrs. We walked from the visitor centre the 2km to the main road and managed to catch a tuk tuk back to Gracias (50 Lempira).

My wife and I have visited the fort on a handful of visits to Gracias. We enjoy it each time. It is a quick visit as the Fort is not that big, but it is in pristine condition. It has a great view of the city and with a $3 entrance fee it is well worth the visit. We would highly recommend this spot.
