Food is very yummy, enough quantity for two time meal for a person. Their traditional Indian Gujrati Thali is very tasty. Takeaway time was less than 20 mins.Although they were closing in 10 mins, they still took over the phone order and honoured the order, which is great customer service.Ambience, location and pricing of different items are very reasonable.

Simple little restaurant hidden away in Werribee. The dosas are really excellent and come with excellent chutneys. The fillings are generous and flavoursome and dining here is inexpensive. Staff are polite and helpful. Well worth a visit.

Thought we would try a local Indian restaurant, and encourage our children to try something different.The man that served us was great. Made us feel welcome and explained how the buffet worked.Could not fault his service at all. Thank you.As for the food, not good. The rice was cold, and the other dishes were not the best tasting at all. Nann bread was ok and the only hot item.Thank you for good service, your food let you down.

I love cooking and eating indian food. I love spices and gravies, vegetarian, and fall off the bone tender meat. I love Indian Food. I was recommended Chawlas by a friend of my wife's, both who love Indian food. He said it is the best Indian he has ever tasted so we went. I agree. My wife agrees, you will agree. There is a difference in how they cook there food, they describe it on the menu and you can taste it. The gravies are divine, the layers of flavor complex, and the experience gastronomically amazing. I even took my father in law there who is an educated eater having travel the globe as a missionary worker, he eats with locals where locals eat, and he is as impressed as we are. My own curries have benefited from eating here as I try to recreate the depth of flavor that Chawlas has. The decor is typically Indian. Lights are bright, colours are brighter and the music is not always Indian. The staff are very keen to serve you and you will wait for nothing. They are fully licensed and well priced. If you want something spicy that is lick the plate delicious, then do your mouth a favor and get on to Chawlas.

We visited this restaurant for a work Christmas party and they made us feel so welcome! The staff were very attentive. The food didn't take long to come out and was tasty. Really enjoyable experience.

We have ordered takeaway and also a meal at this restaurant in the past 2 weeks.Both were medium heat meals which were not too hot for us seasoned curry eaters so we will probably order the HOT versions on our next visit. We believe this Punjabi restaurant is authentic and certainly there are lots of local Indian eaters here. We actually stop here whenever we are passing to eat as the Indian food we have in Prahran is expensive and small portions.

Tastefully decorated and unassuming amongst 100 other garishly lit eateries on Watton St sits this gem of a restaurant.Great and knowledgeable customer service in a personal and unhurried manner, even when it got much busier. The portions are ample, the choice abundant and the speed of service very reasonable upon this visit.I ordered the Prawn Masala and my wife had the Chicken Madras Special. Both dishes were beautifully cooked in rich thick sauce which burst with satisfying flavour. Every mouthful was a pleasure.The naan was large and soft with a crispy base just as it should be. You can tell it was made in house. No rice needed. We were totally stuffed.The price was $50 for two people with a drink each - reasonable indeed.Definitely returning. A rare jewel amongst lesser gems.
