Reviewed By Claudia NWe have been going to Hotel Lusitano since 2015 and have always loved it. Returning this year in late October 2021, was perhaps even more memorable. As Americans, I was concerned if our CDC vaccination cards would be accepted and emailed the hotel and they responded immediately to say they were accepted. We decided to upgrade our usual room to a corner suite and so glad that we did. The room was perfect as was the very comfortable bed. On emailing the hotel, I was able to confirm an early check in that was greatly appreciated after our international flight. Check in was easy as is the parking in the underground parking lot. As always, the staff was amazing some of which we have known from previous years. As always, the restaurant was excellent and I was delighted that many of our favorite dishes were still on the menu. Definitely, you need to try the octopus! They have expanded their dining room and they now have a dedicated breakfast room. Service was outstanding even on evenings when there were larger parties in the restaurant. Yes, we were able to get our favorite table in the restaurant a couple of times for dinner. This was greatly appreciated. I was saddened to learn that the hotel had to be closed down a couple of times for nearly a year. I am sure the dedicated staff suffered during these times. As we were packing up and leaving after three marvelous days, two of the staff members that we have known for years came out and told us how much they enjoyed having us back again. I have assured them that we will be returning again next year since Hotel Lusitano has become our favorite hotel perhaps in all of Portugal. While they are rated four stars, they are five plus plus stars for us. I can't wait to be back in 2022.

After staying in less "developed" accommodation, the warmth of room and good shower also was highly appreciated! When we arrived, we got excellent introduction to the nearby attractions, restaurants etc. We stayed in a suite with separate bedroom and living room, spacious bathroom and own entrance. Room was clean and warm, latter not being granted during winter months in Portugal! This is definitely a good choice of hotel!

Reviewed By Michael SWe stayed one night in one of the appartments in the large old Quinta/estate/farm about 2 kilometers outside Golega. Our appartment was very spacious and very comfortable. The breakfast spread the following morning was really excellent-do not miss! Lots of home made jams, breads, orange cake, cereals, nuts, juices, fruit, coffee etc etc. The owner was very friendly and welcoming as was the manager Isabel, who is also a Fado singer! There is a swimming pool which would be very good for families later in the year, and lots of cattle, horses, dogs and cats. We are only very reluctantly giving it 4 stars instead of five for two reasons (i) the WiFi is not great due to the very thick ancient walls (ii) if you are on foot as we were the property is a two km walk into town, and the first bit of the walk is on a relatively busy road with not much of a footpath. Other than that this place is really excellent and is a great option in Golega.

Tentámos marcar alojamento na casa toda e o dono começou por dificultar porque não dar para agendar a casa na sua totalidade e cada casal tinha de o fazer individualmente. Depois, ao final de diversas iterações e de alguns telefonemas não atendidos por parte do dono (tivemos de começar a ligar de telefs diferentes para que atendesse), estivemos quase um ano para que desse o ok às reserva e teve de ser por ultimatum. No final de tudo, alugámos uma casa que tem um espaço comum e cozinha com a exigência do dono de que não poderíamos utilizar a cozinha e que o frigorífico inclusive tinha de ser muito pouco ocupado. Claramente não recomendamos pelo serviço e atenção que não tivemos. A casa é agradável mas não é nada que na terra e às volta não haja. De todo algo não esperado pelo preço cobrado.

Quartos confortáveis, silenciosos, ar condicionado, banho quente e água a ótima potência. Café-da-manhã simples e gostoso. Com certeza voltaremos!
