Comfortable Hotel in Great Little Town
Reviewed By SWNHWe spent 2 nights at the Forrester while on an 8 day walking tour of the Douro Valley. It is an extremely comfortable place to stay -- both the rooms and the public areas. The staff is friendly and helpful. The room was spacious and clean. The bathroom was adequate, although we are not fans of tub/shower combinations. We prefer walk-in showers. But that is a small complaint. Otherwise, our stay was very pleasant and we were surprised at how good and reasonably priced the restaurant was.

The housekeepers are really lovely and it seemed to us that we just visited the House of our grandfathers! Lovely place with lovely people! So good to escape from everyday rush!!

Great stay!
Reviewed By Sofia BIt's a family run traditional house with a few rooms. The decoration is great! The breakfast room has great views over the valley and the outdoors terrace let's you soak up the sun while having breakfast. Great variety of delicious home made food. It was a highlight for me! Comfortable bed and pillows. Very clean and great decoration in the rooms and common areas. There's parking for hotel guests. The will also make dinner, if you request with some notice. Really the best is the service, the kindest, most accommodating service! Would absolutely recommend it for anyone wanting to explore this Douro region and looking for a relaxed, authentic place.
