We were looking for a restaurant within walking distance of our accommodations in the Sellwood area of Portland. The landlord had a binder with menus and we felt like having something other than bar food. We weren't sure of the restaurant location, so we phoned and the restaurant personnel went out of their way to give us good directions. The food was unusually good--we had a satay sampler with associated sauces and a Thai style coconut curry. For desert we shared hand made toasted coconut ice cream and fried bananas. I was glad it wasn't too sweet. I also had a great local IPA. We appreciated the low key decor and quiet ambiance. I will definitely be visiting this restaurant again. We didn't notice any cleanliness issues mentioned by another reviewer. Service was good.

Most restaurant meals I get are OK. Some are very good. Once in a while I find something that delights me -- and I found it here. My wife and I went here for lunch quite a while ago and were very impressed. This time we took my mother-in-law for dinner. It's a convenient location in downtown Milwaukie, OR, though parking can be a challenge. The atmosphere is pleasant, as are the servers. The last time we came we ordered the Swimming Angel along with another entre, though the one would have been plenty for the two of us. My mother-in-law isn't a big eater, and we love appetizers. So with all that in mind, we ordered the Swimming Angel and appetizers of coconut shrimp, crab puffs, and spring rolls. It turned out to be plenty for the three of us, and I had enough left over for lunch the next day (which always makes me very happy!!)All the appetizers were wonderful! The crab puffs were not as sweet as you get other places, which was very good, and they were quite well-stuffed! The spring rolls were large, crispy, and light. And the coconut shrimp was to die for!! The Swimming Angel was very nicely presented, with broccoli all around the edge. Even the rice was cleverly molded into a flower shape -- nice touch! The servers were very friendly and efficient, and it was reasonably priced for all the food we got. We will definitely return again, and recommend this place to anyone!

We absolutely loved this place with its unique Asian menu and creative drinks. They suggest 1.5 small plates per person and six for four of us was just right. The halibut special was our favorite

Next to Chinese, we probably visit Thai restaurants most frequently. The place is clean and well-furnished (no Thai/Oriental music, however). We ordered some appetizers, which were quite good, and the Pra Ram to share. However, the vegetables in the Pra Ram were not hot -- a little cool. It's not our favorite but still pretty good. Worth a try.

Far from the 15 standard Thai dishes on the typical Thai menu, Thai Square offers several pages of unique and varied items with an authentic flair. As a salmon lover, the full page of salmon dishes was exciting. Fast service, generous servings, and top of the line flavors made this first visit a special occasion. This is a must stop for Thai food connoisseurs.
