Milwaukie /mɪlˈwɔːkiː/ is a city in Clackamas County, Oregon, United States. A very small portion of the city extends into Multnomah County. The population was 20,291 at the 2010 census. Founded in 1847 on the banks of the Willamette River, the city, known as the Dogwood City of the West, was incorporated in 1903 and is noted as the birthplace of the Bing cherry. The city is now a suburb of Portland and also adjoins the unincorporated areas of Clackamas and Oak Grove.

We wandered through the Farmers market one Saturday morning in July, sampling the many flavors of Oregon (cherries, peaches, honey, coffee, breakfast tacos...) enjoying live music, smelling the fresh flowers and lavender, and of course people watching. It is a great place for brunch with cafe tables in the back. I liked talking with the vendors, all passionate about their food .

Tours start at 10 am sharp, M-F. Come and learn about the wonderful world of stone grinding whole grains on a free guided tour of the BRM manufacturing facility. Our friendly 'Grain Guides' provide you with a brief history of how Bob and Charlee Moore championed the goodness of simple, natural whole grains and created a company now respected around the world. You will watch the action of a working mill as seen through our viewing windows. Questions are welcome during a discussion about the healthful benefits of our wide variety of grain products. Everyone leaves with a free sample. Tours generally last about 1 1/2 hours. Following the tour our visitors are invited to travel one mile to our Whole Grain Store and Cafe for lunch and shopping. Both of our buildings are accessible to everyone and families are always welcome.

We toured the factory, which was fun. The tour guides were entertaining and knowledgeable. The tour lasted about 90 minutes. We received some free samples after the tour ended. Next, we ate at the restaurant. The food was tasty and healthy. The portions were large and the price was reasonable. We also bought a number of items from the shop.

We had approx. 20 people, 50% women/50% men and everyone really enjoyed themselves. Everyone stayed the entire time to see what was made and everyone (especially the men!) said it was the best team building event they've ever done. Several folks have said that they plan to come back with their spouse to make something together!!

What a find! Great farmer"s market in easy to find location. Lots of food available for purchase including Canby Asparagus Farms! We found Olympic Provisions there too. Excellent farm fresh produce, jams, cheeses, nitrogen ice-cream, fresh hot peanuts from a 105 year old cart. And some great live music too!

There is a small dirt beach that is popular with families and paddle boarders. There is no lifeguard, but the water seems very calm (at least the day we were there). There are informational signs about the history of the area. There are also paths and trails to above the river or creek. Some of the paths are paved or very smooth dirt trails, others are a bit more natural. Much of the walking area is shaded, so it's still pleasant on a hot day. There are a lot of bugs - my bare arms felt itchy as we walked through the woods.

Go to the website to see everything offered...and specific hours and fees. After checking it out on-line, we took our grandson for an afternoon of pure water fun. It was a great way to spend a grandparent weekend. The wave pool, diving board and slides offered him everything he wanted and then some! The hot tub was great for me!
Hint....the tubes rent out quickly ($1). They are good for a 2 hour shift. So, if you miss the first time, you can try for one at the second shift.

The architecture is impressive, but what is impressive on any stage is its use. The set design was excellent for the production of Fun Home.

This wonderful venue has great ambience, full of people just having a good time. Conversation and laughter dominate. Food is very good, much better than our expectations. We had margherita pizza and steak special our first time there. Anyone ordering steak knows that it's usually not worth ordering. But here, the steak was flavorful, thick, and juicy. Second time around we had the tomato Gorgonzola soup (so good I went home and found a recipe to make myself) and the spicy hot pizza. Desert was an absolutely wonderful lemon cheesecake with a wafer crust and some type of crumbly topping. Fantastic.
But wait, there's more. THE MUSIC! This is why we came to begin with and our hopes for a nice jazz lounge experience was fulfilled. There's music every night except Sunday and Monday when they're closed, but check their website to verify. Music on Wednesday started at 7:00 and when we went on Friday, at 8:00. This was fantastic for us because we don't like to go to bars where the music starts at 10 or even 11:00. You've got to be kidding - money and our pocket and no where to go? Not at Arrivederci's! Friday band was wonderful. Great vocals, sax, and bass in addition to other musicians. The surprise was when sax and flugelhorn horn players walked in to jam with them. What fun! The flugelhorn guy also did a little rap for us. All totaled, it was a wonderful time that exceeded expectations both times we went. Will we go back? YES. Do we recommend Arriverderci's? ABSOLUTELY.

Wonderful singing and acting with great presentation by all actors ---fight scenes where staged (choreographed) with perfection

Bob's serves breakfast and lunch from a kitchen using his own products. The company is employee-owned since Bob Moore decided to "retire." He really hasn't as he can often be found on the premises, upstairs tinkling the ivories. Many whole foods, grains, legumes, etc., are sold pre-packaged as well as in bulk. Don't try the scratch biscuits -- you will be hooked.
