Good value for the money, the small sirloins were a bit peppery, and the filet medallions were very grisly, not a filet at all. Small lobster tail very tasty. The salads and dressings deserve 5 stars. Always quite busy, but decent service.

I consider myself quite the foodie, and Ohana's is my favorite restaurant in my hometown of Des Moines, hands-down. The quality of the food is outstanding; the atmosphere is fun; the staff is friendly. I order the Royal Combination with a filet and scallops - I would say their best known dish. The steak is cooked to perfection, and the lemon sauce they make in-house for the scallops is... addictive, for lack of better word. We have been there so many times now that our order has gotten bigger and bigger because they offer so many delicious options. We always order with garlic and chili powder now, and an appetizer of calamari as well - which is not the typical chewy calamari you think of, but instead is tender, well-seasoned, and unbreaded. I could go on and on. The sauces are all amazing. Just don't plan on having room for dessert, because in all the years I have eaten there I have only ordered it once I think - never enough room. If you're a light, or even medium-eater, plan on having leftovers.First off, Courtney, I have to thank you for visiting us all this time! It's wonderful the scallops, steak, and of course the lemon sauce always hit the spot. I look forward to welcoming you back next time you're back in Des Moines. All the best,Marco, Manager

Dine on your favorite sandwich or try something completely new for lunch at Fire Creek. Since 2003, we have served a wide variety of delicious dishes in West Des Moines, IA.
We had a group of eight for dinner and Susan was wonderful! Our table was near a fireplace, which was nice. An extensive menu that includes appetizers, salads, pasta dishes, seafood, meat, etc. Also, a nice drink menu. I had the Grilled Lamb Loin Chops with sour cream and chives mashed potatoes. It also came with a salad. I had the creamy garlic Parmesan dressing for my salad (dressing is served on the side) which is exceptional. The entree consisted of three chops grilled to perfection and very tasty. Mashed potatoes were also good. For a cocktail, I had the Strawberry Amore Martini - excellent!

When I come to Iowa for business I usually go to Johnny's on Fleur. This time I went to the Mills Civic Parkway location. Service was great . I ordered the Veal Parmigiano. Portions were good . One of the veal patties was very tough and I did not eat it. I know I could haves said something to the waitress but I was anxious to get back to the hotel for a call.Dan thank you for your review. I am disappointed to hear your meal did not meet expectations. I have shared with management and the culinary team. I do hope you will be willing to give us another try as we are capable of a better experience. Thank you again.

Had a nice Twnderloin Salad and iced tea that was nowhere worth $21 plus tip. The bread to start was van interesting, but nothing I would return for. Reasonable portions and tasty, but overall nothing special. It was a nice design and decor. Service was very spotty. Have never been asked (bruskly) what temperature when ordering. Usually a how would you like your meat cooked. Was very slow to refill tea and water.Dear Mark,Thank you for taking the time to write about your recent experience.
