We were passing through Thuir and decided to lunch on a Sunday. Little was open and this restaurant at first seemed to lack any allure. However we chose to sit outside where à la carte and a set menu was on offer (this latter is rare on weekends). We chose the set menu and for a very reasonable price received apéritif, canapés, choice of hors d'oeuvres, main course and dessert. The place is run by a Belgian and the menu reflects this; although there are many locally flavoured dishes there is a big choice of mussels & frits as well as some Belgian specialities. Everything seemed "fait maison" and dishes were fresh and elegantly prepared for a small roadside café. Good service and friendly staff.

With the many excellent reviews this restaurant has received we expected a lot. We arrived latish for lunch (2.30). Our menu de jour (14.50E) was good, but certainly not outstanding. We had a choice of just 3 desserts - perhaps they'd run out of options. Service was pretty average.

Nouveau restaurant buffet entree nord de la Jonquera, sortie 1 en venant de France , juste après le péage .Grand parking , grande salle fonctionnelle, Déco un peu kitch à mon goût.Buffet de qualité avec immense choix , pour 19 ⬠tout compris y compris , vin , sangria , alcool etc

At the end of a small road you'll find this cosy restaurant. We had diner here and the rabbit with mustard and the paella were so delicious. The owner is a very friendly host and we enjoyed the evening at his place very much. Next to his house is a small church of the 9th and 11th century ... don't miss to ask him for a visit.
