Visiting some friends in Laroque we booked in for Sunday lunch with our host. We were greeted to the tasteful dining room overlooking the garden and were delighted by a delicious amuse bouche of cream of courgette with mussels. For the starter I had foie gras which is made by the chef on site, this was delicious served with fig purée and was complemented by the rose wine recommended by the owner. For main I decided on the sword fish which was very well cooked and presented with seasonal vegetables, beetroot purée and a fine light sauce. Every mouthful was a joy. Onto desert while my friends decided on the peach and chocolate options I had the sheepâs cheese which had a fantastic depth of flavour and completed the meal perfectly. The restaurant offers amazing food served by lovely staff in an unhurried and informal atmosphere I would not hesitate to come again. The very best food I have tasted in a long time!

We've been to Les Abeilles many times and have never been disappointed. The food has always been excellent and is also great value for money. It has a bustling atmosphere as it's usually very popular. Unfortunately our french isn't good enough to understand the menu sometimes but the owner is very friendly and always comes to help us. Our most recent visit was on a Wednesday lunchtime at the end of October where we'd just stopped to have a drink on their terrace in the sunshine however the busy lunchtime service tempted us inside. My goats cheese tart & salad starter and steak main, and my husbands braised beef were cooked perfectly.

I visited during the summer on the recommendation of friends. It is good to have another restaurant in Ceret that is a little off the beaten track and was expecting something special. Firstly i would say the service was excellent as was the wine. Not so good, bland starters and only one of the fish dishes we had was any good. Our bill seemed to creep up to the high side for what we had.

Celebrating my birthday last night at this little gem, one of the best restaurants we have been to, LâAtelier de Fred. The photos speak for themselves, heavenly food and wine, excellent service, friendly, attentive, helpful staff. Set Menu - each course was magnificently presented and locally sourced.

I went there with a few friends in a road trip. There were pieces of glass in a hamburger one of my friends were eating. The manager didn't even say sorry about that, just change the burger and charge us the full price. When we make her notice that the girl could had serious health problem if she accidentally eat that the manager got mad and start yelling at us saying that was not her problem and that we should pay the whole burger. Please, avoid this place. The food is not good and if you have any problem you won't find any kind of help from the manager.

We had a recommendation for this restaurant from a local friend. It wasn't there the last time I visited Plan d'Eau, and I was pleasantly surprised by the décor. We were all delighted by the menus arriving inside Tintin books, and frankly could have held on to them for a bit longer, but they were whisked away. Three of us had the set lunchtime menu, and one had a local speciality of pork chips with aoli.First, the bad. All three serving staff I spoke to were either incredibly rushed off their feet, or just rude - I'm not sure which! First, we had to clarify what was in one dish (a member of our party has dietary requirements) and I got one word answers with an attitude. None the 3 drink choices I wanted were available (grapefruit juice, Campari or spritz) and no alternative suggestions were made. The waitress tried to bring the wrong order to our table, argued with us that it was correct and then went off without apologizing when she realized her mistake. Finally, when we asked what ice-cream flavours there were, the waitress reeled off a list whilst walking away (so I couldn't hear her to translate) and then wouldn't repeat it.Now the good.The food is simply stunning in presentation. I get the impression that they use a lot of locally sourced ingredients too. Whoever is in the kitchen has a real talent (and they obviously link pink peppercorns, there were plenty of those!). The charcuterie platter was especially impressive, the desserts just beautiful.The setting is gorgeous and tranquil - we appreciate being under the trees. The view is superb over the lake. The barman is also friendly, and his sweet little son was visiting behind the bar - it was a pleasure to watch him 'helping' and tucking into a chocolate ice-cream.The prices are also reasonable. It's just a pity that the grumpy service we had from the front-of-house staff soured our experience a bit.

Ate here this week and it was horrible! Not sure how they made french cheeses taste so bad! Starter of prawn cocktail was mixed seafood straight from tub, pork unrecognizable and cheese was cold and horrible. We are staying in le boulou for 2 weeks but will not be going back !!

Overnight stay in Le Boulou so we tried this restaurant after reading previous reviews. What a little gem! We guess it's probably family run and we had the self service menu. Self serve choice of starters including snails, sardine pate and an amazing pork terrine amongst others. Then a choice of main plate. My partner had the biggest saucepan of mussels we had ever seen! Then dessert and coffee. Together with a litre carafe of wine all for â¬43 about £33! Excellent meal, not Michelin star but good rustic food.

The young couple who have recently taken over this restaurant have certainly set a very high standard for themselves. We have visited twice for lunch recently and the 3 course set menu is superb. Interesting, beautifully presented dishes. Fine dining for a very reasonable price.
