My friends and I wanted to try another shabu shabu restaurant and we found this place. The restaurant has limited seating however I was very surprised and pleased that they were reallt pleasant and accommodating to their customers. Just a tip though, your party needs to be complete to be seated. And try to be early. It seemed pricey but I find the food very flavorful and delectable. The meat was fresh, the miso broth was really tasty and not oily, the rice was delicious, a mixture of brown and white rice, I believe. Lots of vegetable servings, the meat portions may look small however once you eat all the vegetables and rice, and soup, you'll find yourself full. Then I had to take my left over soup home because it was really delicious! Service was fast and efficient. And we didn't feel that we were hurried to finish our dinner at all. I really liked their food. Kudos to them. Definitely recommended.

This is a classic Korean tofu joint. By classic, I mean - a large variety and endless supply of side dishes (kimchi, bean sprouts, pickled cucumbers, spicy oysters, seaweed, etc.), and a good selection of accompaniments to the tofu pot (meats, all vegetables, or seafood, etc.). You specify the level of spiciness to your tofu pot (best go "mild" for the uninitiated) and it comes out pretty close to your specification. The twist at BCD is that, as an appetizer, you get a fried whole fish in addition to all the tofu and goodies - the fish is fresh, skin & bones & head included, and it makes for good gnawing while you're waiting for your tofu pot to come out. The service is prompt and courteous and the restaurant is clean and spacious. Located in a strip mall with plenty of parking. The Thai place next door is also good, and there's a cafe at the other end of the trip that sells decent boba tea and other Taiwanese eats.

Arrived for lunch during the week. Parking was effortless in the large strip center parking lot. This was my first time dining on this location but have been to locations in Torrance CA and Henderson NV. This location was large and spacious with large dining and beverage bar and many booths.Gen is one of the few AYCE Korean BBQ eateries that offers shrimp which is a pro in addition to a large selection of meats, my faves were the prime & Hawaiian steak, brisket and marinated pork belly - all included in the base price luncheon. Other standouts were the steam egg which you cook on the grill, octopus and tofu stew. Service from the young waitress was solid considering she was taking care of a handful of tables and did a decent job switching out the grill every time I placed an order of addition entrees. For the value and selection offered here, the lunch put a smile on my face and I'd return to a Gen BBQ somewhere again.

We ate with friends that suggested this place. The salad was very fresh. The side dishes were very tasty as well. They include sushi and ice creamTheir meats were good, although I could find other restaurant with better quality beef. So this is a very value oriented place. If you are very hungry then I would highly recommend this restaurant.

On a Saturday evening we decided to have dinner here. Probably not a good choice but we ended up waiting for 30 minutes before we were seated. Fortunately there are benches outside the restaurant to sit. We were used to the self-serve AYCE type Korean BBQ, especially the one in Riverside and this was our first try on AYCE that you order through the wait staff. Pick from the 4 set menu and you choose what you want from the set. For being our first try here, we just wanted the cheapest set $16.99 (price will go up Oct. 1 for $1 more) which has 19 items available to choose from. All the meats were of good quality from the first plate to the last. You have two hours to enjoy your dinner and they start timing when you place your first order. Then they will come for last call 15 minutes before your two hours is up. Service was great considering how busy the place was. Appetizers were already set out on the table when taken to be seated and you can order more if you like any particular items. All in all, a great value if you are a meat eater. It cost extra for the vegetable wraps ($5.99) plate if you like to wrap your meat with. The place can be noisy because of the TVs with K-Pop all around the restaurant plus the bustling of people but the decor is modern and sleek.

We decided to try this Korean restaurant after reading good reviews from a local news source. We were not disappointed. the meals starts with a simple salad, soup and some typical Korean side dishes. The kimchee was fresh and tasty. For the 6 of us, we ordered the beef combo, which cost a little less than $100. The combo included generous portion of thin sliced beef, 6 strips of prime beef ribs, not seasoned, and some fillet of seasoned prime beef ribs plus some vegetable choices. In stead of self-cooking, the bbq cooking was actually done by a wait staff specifically assigned to that table. Our wait staff was very friendly and helpful. Special cooking plate was used for each types of meat; the beef slices were cooked on metal plates, while the beef strips were cooked on wired frames. The meat was very fresh, of good quality and with good tasting flavor. They were cooked just right for our preference. On the side of the bbq, there were egg and cheese flavored corn that were being cooked using the flame from the bbq. Those were OK, not real good. The total meal portion were not enough for us that we had to order another serving of the un-seasoned beef ribs, which cost about 1/3 of the combo. This meal was truly not the usual Korean BBQ.
