After visiting the pilgrimage site, we took a short break at the nearby Santa Cruz Cafe. The coffee and cake were fine, if you are looking for a full meal this maybe, is not the place for you, but it suited us well on the day.Thank you for your appreciation. We arrived just as A Cave was opening for dinner at 7:00pm. Since the menus are written in Portuguese, the chef/host Angelo explained everything to us in English. He explained how each meal was prepared and suggested we try the Vinho Verde, which became a favorite wine while we were in Portugal. We really enjoyed the starter tray, and our dinners were extremely tasty and presented beautifully. The desserts, coconut and pear, were equally amazing. We were so impressed with Angelo who kept coming over to our table to check on us and answer any questions we had. We felt as though we had our own personal chef for the evening! It really was an outstanding experience - our best meal in Portugal!Thank you very much.It was a pleasure to serve you.
