Having moved to Colorado from San Francisco the search for good Chinese food has been frustrating. We have yet to discover quality dim sum and most of the food we have been served in Chinese restaurants in the Denver metro area has been very disappointing. China Red has been one of the most disappointing of all. I went in to the restaurant and ordered take out all three times I tried it. We tried it when it first opened, gave it a few months and tried it again. Last summer we gave it a third try. Three experiences of over-priced, little flavor and greasy food. Chain fast food Chinese is more authentic and tasty than this.

Not a lot of restaurants in my area, but Yum is certainly my favorite. Easy dining, not stuffy, great food. Sometimes a little pricey but they will deliver which comes in handy during snow storms and bouts of laziness. Consistent and a valued member of our community.

Hop Alley is a quirky, unassuming restaurant serving inspired Chinese cuisine in a happening neighborhood. The staff is friendly, if not polished, but thatâs not what Hop Alley is about. Visit Hop Alley for a freshly prepared Chinese inspired meal to be shared with friends and family in an intimate (as in tight) space. That said, youâll want to arrive early as it is almost always busy and can get loud. Street parking can be a challenge, as well. Definitely worth a visit, but certainly not âfine dining.â

I ordered the egg foo young, which I was a little worried about because many restaurants make it too greasy. It was perfect! Fluffy, crisp, and very flavorful. Excellent texture and moist without being greasy. The egg rolls were also excellent. My friend ordered the sweet and sour pork and she was a little disappointed that the pork was dry and hard to chew. But we both agreed that the egg drop soup was delicious...just enough egg and salt plus a few pieces of corn. Speedy and courteous service.

Commerce City... ahh, what an interesting place! This Panda Express was in a nice, newer-looking strip mall with a bunch of other restaurants in the area. The quality of the food was good, the service was friendly and relatively fast (seems like we had to wait longer than normal for a fresh batch of chow mein, but it was good when we got it), and the price was great... the best thing about any Panda Express!While we enjoyed our meal, several homeless-looking folks came in and got complimentary cups of water and ice and whatnot. It was actually pretty cool to know the owners and managers of the restaurant were willing to do that for folks (it was really hot outside). We actually helped one lady who came in in a dirty sports bra, ugly American flag shorts, and filthy red knee socks (no shoes... and really no shirt... but she got the service of some free cups of ice :) carry out her eight cups of ice for her old SUV full of overheating kids in the parking lot. She tried to get them all herself, and it was fun to watch for awhile, but quickly it became apparent she just wasn't going to make it :)

Searching for a affordable, fast casual place that can handle both a hungry group of teens, chaperones can be a challenge. Throw in broad spectrum food allergies and it can be almost impossible. Huhot is the answer. The wide selection of proteins, and vegetables coupled with the knowledgeable staff and grill managers allowed for worry free relaxed evening.
