Denver Biscuit Company

Had Saturday breakfast here. Place was packed at 9 AM. I ended up sitting at the bar. Excellent choice. The food was amazing. Best fried chicken and gravy I have had in years. Bartenders are very attentive and have a LOT of good information about the city. (Want to see a ghost? The bartender told about 3 places in Denver that are haunted.) Bottom Line: Go eat here! It is NOT pricey and the food is is amazing!

Red Lobster

I find that Red Lobster in general, regardless of the location, is pretty average. There are plenty of other great places for great seafood if you are willing to check them out and pay the price. While Red Lobster is affordable, there really isn't anything all that special about the food. All the restaurants look pretty much the same, and the staff is generally friendly. But the food isn't plated in a very appetizing manner, the dishes used for serving are generic and boring, and sauces come in disposable cups (nice ramekins would help). I find that on the rare occasion I come here the food is average. This time was no exception. I tried a shrimp platter. And while my meal wasn't bad, it wasn't spectacular either. The biscuits are about the best thing they have going.Hi, JJBlondie. Thank you for visiting our Denver Red Lobster and sending us your feedback. We are staying nearby and stopped in here for a late lunch. The place was maybe at 2% capacity at 1:45pm and it only got worse. At 2:30 the wait staff outnumber the two of us. Empty bars are somewhat depressing.I ordered the Pork Wings and while they were ok, I wouldn’t order them again. My wife has the Tortilla Soup which she loved. The only standout was the very professional, but not very chatty barperson Thank you so much for reaching out with your feedback on your last visit. We're so sorry to hear that you were disappointed by the ambiance and your meal. We never want you to feel this way at Bar Louie and we apologize for letting you down. We hope we have a chance in the future to step up our game and show you a much better time. Thanks again and have a lovely day! - PB

We were interested in trying this place out. Well we can now say that we have tried it and do not plan on returning. We ordered the Bacon Flight as appetizer and it was not worth the money, nor could we taste a difference in the 4 slices of bacon other than the lamb bacon. We each ordered the Flank Steak, it needed salt desperately and there were no salt shakers to be found on the table. The highlight of the night was the Bacon Sticky Toffee Pudding, this was decent but over all not a whole lot of flavor. I also found the items to be way over priced for what you received both in quantity and quality.

I was happily surprised By how good the food was. This was my 1st time here and I will definitely be going back. There was a 40 to 60 minute wait, but I used the Yelp app for wait listing and was seated within 5 minutes of checking in. Totally worth it.We shared some fried green tomatoes. I had the fried green tomato and crab cake Benedict. It was perfection. My friend had the vegetable omelet which she said was very good. And her daughter had pancakes. Everybody was very happy with their food.We sat upstairs on the patio in the shade with misters blowing on us to keep us cool on this hot morning. Our waitress was very friendly and efficient and even though it took a little time to get our food they kept us apprised.I will definitely go back to try other things on the menu that looked really good.

We went on Saturday night and they were pretty busy. We had a nice waiter. We started our meal out with deviled eggs with a pimento filling, they were excellent, but $5 for 1 whole egg(2 halves). We then had the tuna tartare that was excellent, definitely rivals Hawaii dishes we have had. Our next dish was the scallops and a pork chop. Too start out they were almost cold and had to be sent back. My husband did enjoy the pork but since it was reheated, it lost the blue cheese flavor that it should of had a hint of. On the scallop dish, there were 3 scallops on about a tablespoon of risotto, the scallops weren’t all that flavorful, but what little risotto was there was good. The person sitting by us also had to send their scallops back because they were not hot either. For dessert we had a key lime crime brûlée’s that was excellent, they did comp desert because of the main course. We did have such high hopes, we weren’t totally disappointed because some of the items were excellent.

Dinner on a Wednesday night, not at all crowded. Server immediately came to the table after we were seated and offered to start us off with drinks. We had our one-year-old with us and also requested some bread asap as he was ready to eat. The cornbread came out pretty quickly but was surprisingly not warm. He liked it anyway. For dinner we ordered the baby back ribs (with fries and fruit), the pulled pork plate (with cole slaw and baked beans) and the fried catfish plate (with potato salad and collards). All of the sides were very good, especially the cole slaw. The baby backs were meaty and tender. The fried catfish had a nice cornmeal batter and was very tender. The pulled pork was cold. After pointing this out to our server, he immediately apologized and said he’d have a new plate out asap. He did, and the pulled pork was the correct temperature. It tasted a bit smoky and had a nice pork flavor. The Carolina bbq sauce was vinegary and spicy, which is just the way we like it. The manager came by a few minutes after the new plate was delivered just to make sure it was OK. Shows a commitment to customer satisfaction, which we appreciated.
