Victoria House

Experience the charm of one of Victoria's oldest heritage listed properties At Victoria House you can enjoy the friendly atmosphere of a circa 1853, fully restored Georgian private hotel of historical importance. Relax in our guest lounge with comfy armchairs, piano and complimentary Port, Sherry and fruitcake in front of the open fire, or in the relaxing sun-room with books and magazines provided. We have a lovely sunny breakfast room overlooking the garden with full freshly cooked English breakfasts available and offer free WiFi throughout the main building. We are a short stroll from the foreshore of Portland with its Marina, the Information Centre, Portland's cable tram, the Botanic gardens and a great range of cafes and restaurants. The shopping precinct is in the block behind us. In front of our grassy foreshore, the busy marina is home to pleasure craft and keen anglers chasing after the Tuna and other plentiful catches. Whales visit us in the winter, even within the harbour

Warm and inviting place to stay!

We stayed at Victoria House while doing the 13-day Great South West Walk. Mandy and John were perfect hosts. Their warmth and hospitality were greatly appreciated. We particularly enjoyed the long, hot baths following our walks, and the port or sherry and fruit cake by the fireplace each night. Our room was warm and cozy, and the breakfast was very filling and sustaining. We would highly recommend staying here for the eastern section of this walk.

Was so looking forward to lunch, yet filled with disappointment.

Reviewed By Dale W

The location is second to none. I walked in (wearing a mask), and stood at the counter for at least 3 minutes whilst the staff members were a meter away chatting. Feeling invisible, I spoke up and said “Is someone able to take my order please? The penny dropped and we were shown to our seats. My wife ordered the cauliflower soul and I the battered fish. We waited longer than normal, although the view made up for the lull. We received our lunch ant to our dismay the soup was tasteless and the fish VERY overcooked and dry. Such a disappointment. I gave 2 out of 5, as the salad was fresh and tasty… Will not venture in there again.

Lovely stay

Had a wonderful stay here. The place is exceptionally clean and Tony available for any needs. Loved the history of the place and how close it is to main shops, foreshore and restaurants. Only suggestion would be to update TV to smart TV! Enjoyed the little extras such as the coffee and biscuits

Disgusting, we refused to stay after seeing the room. Has to be The worst motel in Portland. They had the gawl to request a credit card to cover the mini bar, there was only 2 $3.50 bottles of water in the fridge
