This is a busy place--I recommend calling in your order to shorten the wait, but the food is worth waiting for!!!!!! Tips are tender, flavorful, all you could hope for, perfectly complimented by the sauce! I had the mild and hot sauces mixed--I like it spicy and my expectations were exceeded!!!!!!!! Hot links were cooked to perfection. Can't wait to try the ribs---I'll be baack! (in my Arnold Schwarzenegger voice)

Uncle John's Bbq

Stopped in this place after seeing and smelling the smoke from across the street. It's built into a micro strip mall connected to a corner gas station. Very simple inside, a few tables, and the real deal smoky barbecue. This is a counter service place. The smoker is going right behjnd the order counter in this tiny restaurant so if you don't like bbq smoke maybe wait outside.I had the lunch combo of turkey tips, hot link, fries, a slice of bread and a micro cup of cole slaw. An outrageous value at just $7.99 for this and a small soda with free refills. This place was busy with a lot of folks taking to go orders.Turkey tips were great. Tender, smoky, and great sauce. Hot link was tender and smoked perfectly however I wasnt a fan of the seasoning. Fries were soggy as they were underneath all the barbecue. Cole slaw was creamy and delicious. When I go back I'll pass on the hot link and ask for the fries on the side in a separate container.Unless you're super hungry stick to the value deals as it's plenty of food.

When we arrived at Chilis we were served by Johnetta the most passionate waitress we have ever met. She had the biggest smile and was so jolly and cheerful that everyone could tell she loved her job. She knew the menu inside out and gave great recommendations. She set the tone for us to have a great time and a wonderful meal. I had a perfectly cooked ribeye steak and my friends had Tilapia and Salmon. The loaded mashed potatoes were awesome and the broccoli was really fresh. Johnetta was extremely attentive during our meal. For the first time ever at Chilis, we did not come home with a doggy bag. Our food was so delicious, we ate it ALL including the Molten Cake. After eating, Johnetta quickly cleaned the table. We were so relaxed and full that we really hated to leave. I can't wait to go back and when I do I am going to insist I have Johnetta for my waitress. Great Job Johnetta!!! And Kudos to the cooking staff.

Kenny's Ribs

Yesterday, I had a craving for barbeque so I ventured to Kenny’s Ribs & Chicken in Lansing, Illinois to quench my craving. Kenny’s has been around in the same location for many years. It is somewhat a landmark. On arrival the place was clean, quiet, and four people seated at two different tables enjoying their barbeque. There was one lady in line ahead of me placing her order. The cashier, who takes your order, gave to me a friendly greeting. I ordered a full rack of ribs, which came with three slices of white bread, coleslaw, and French fried potatoes; all that for $25.99. The orders are all prepared for take away. However, there is an ample amount of table and chairs, if you would prefer to dine in. I chose to take my order home. I reside about forty-five minutes away. When I arrived home, my barbeque was still hot. The meat was a tad dry, but still fell from the bone. I chose the mild sauce from the hot sauce. It tasted good. Not too sweet, but a bit tangy. I would suggest that you ask to have your fries placed on the side. Otherwise, they place them under the ribs, socked in sauce! As for the slaw, the dressing is somewhat thin, sweet and tangy. It has a vinegar base. This was not the best barbeque that I ever had, but it was certainly far from the worst that I have ever had.

Twisted Q Barbeque

Lately I've been on a quest for find a really great pulled pork (sandwich or platter) which is how we wound up here. Especially when you look at other places they have really good prices.I had the pulled pork platter with fries and mac and cheese. It should have come with bread, which they forgot but there was more than enough food that it wasn't missed. The mac and cheese was a little bland. Not the typical elbow macaroni you usually see, instead a longer noodle. My wife and I loved the fries. More the type you get some where like 5 Guys burgers, a little darker with the skin still on some. I knew the pork wasn't going to the be end of my search when it came out rather heavily coated in sauce (sauce was good). Overall the pork was good but I feel most of the flavor probably due to the amount of sauce was from the sauce. Kind of hard to tell. Still made a great lunch. My wife had chicken Caesar wrap which she enjoyed with her fries. Overall a nice stop and if in the area again I wouldn't hesitate to stop at again. From the signs on the walls they seem to have a decent or growing selection of different beers. There is also a display with cupcakes and brownies for dessert.
