We were staying at the Resort and decided to try the restaurant. We were sure glad that we did! We ended up eating there 3 times! Mary and Alex were superb waitresses and kept our drinks refilled and answered questions about the resort and Toledo Bend Lake. We tried the Spinach Salad, the Gumbo, the Hamburger and the Chef Salad! Everything was tasty and we thought the prices were really fair! Thank you Cypress Bend Restaurant! There is nothing at all fancy about eating at Toledo Town & Tackle. But, the food is always very good quality and the service is great. For fishermen (fisher-persons?) and tourists, this is a reasonably priced place to get a great breakfast before getting on the lake and to get some food for lunch while you're on the lake. While you're there, you can get gas, drinks, bait and tackle, too! The specialty is sandwiches; pizza available, too; eat there or take it out. During season, they're open very early to accommodate fishermen wanting to get on the lake early.

Stopped in while staying at Cypress Bend Resort. We did not know what to expect. Not great curb appeal as you drive up - inside is simple but well served. We had the fried fish - it was the best I have every had at a restaurant, very fresh, cooked perfect. Nice salad bar. Service was great. Don't have to dress up - just enjoy. Wait staff is casual - shorts and flip flops. Very Reasonable. Hopefully, will have a chance to go back! Keep up the good work!

Decent food, huge portions! Ordered the chicken burrito, and couldn't finish it. Not sure if I ordered the best thing to judge this place from, as so many people recommended it from Hemphill and we just weren't really seeing it firsthand as to why. Margaritas were good, so that's a plus! Good chips and salsa.
