Kāneʻohe is a census-designated place (CDP) included in the City and County of Honolulu and located in Hawaiʻi state District of Koʻolaupoko on the island of Oʻahu. In the Hawaiian language, kāne ʻohe means "bamboo man". According to an ancient Hawaiian story a local woman compared her husband's cruelty to the sharp edge of cutting bamboo; thus the place was named Kāneʻohe or "Bamboo man". The population was 34,597 at the 2010 census. Kāneʻohe is the largest of several communities along Kāneʻohe Bay and one of the two largest residential communities on the windward side of Oʻahu (the other is Kailua). The commercial center of the town is spread mostly along Kamehameha Highway.

Dinner reservations were made to ensure seating/service for a party of 14 following attendance at a choral concert. We were received, seated and served in short order. Service was excellent. Food preparation timely. All dishes were delicious and enjoyed by all. A minor drawback, and understood, was a consolidated rather than separate checks. The solution to that was checking out the online menu/prices beforehand with diners prepared to pay their portions of the bill to include shared tip. All diners promised to return in the near future.

Having hiked for the past few hours, we were in need of someplace we could all agree on to eat lunch. Having not spent much time in this area we wandered around until we saw something that looked interesting...this restaurant. The waitresses were super friendly and the atmosphere was bright and free-flowing...you just felt at home here. When the food came it was excellent and the prices were reasonable. If you are in the area, and you happen to be in the mood for Mexican food, why not take a chance on this restaurant and I guarantee you that you won't go away hungry. Semper fi, Mad Dog

This is a Mexican restaurant in Kaneohe, Hawaii. There are quite a few Mexican restaurants around the island of Oahu, but from our experience, it's not often you find one that is authentic, with fresh ingredients like Don Goyo's.The selections at this restaurant include everything from fajitas to tamales with the first serving of freshly made salsa and chips complementary. Nothing is floating in grease. The rice is full of flavor. I'll definitely be back again.

We are living on the island for three months and we have been here a few times and they never leave off the sour cream that my husband requests! So don't waste your breath they don't care anyway! I mean it's fast food I get it but it's not a hard thing to do!
