Royal Wok is one of those places that serves great food in one of the most unexpected parts of town. Yes, it is a regular Chinese take-out whose menu is consistent with almost every other Americanized Chinese restaurant in the country, but whose prices are the lowest of the aforementioned in EC, possibly due to its location next to some pretty shady businesses in the 'ghetto'. Not a good place to dine in, but perfect for take-out, preferably before nightfall.

Being graduation day for ECSU, most places were packed for lunch; this was not. The food isn't bad, and the service staff is attentive. There is plenty to offer on the buffet and unlike many buffet places, the food is checked and replaced frequently. I've been here before and was determined not to come back, but I'm glad I gave it another shot. Don't get me wrong, it's nothing to write home about but for tiny town Chinese, it's not bad at all.

I hardly ever write a bad review but I went to this place because it had 4 stars. Honestly, the food was so bad, I thought I might end up sick. The prices are pretty good and the portions are huge so if you like to eat a lot maybe this is the place for you. The napkins are so small and thin, you need to use at least 6 for your meal. The plates are cheap and hope you don't need a to go box, because you might get growled at. The service was not good and they do not like to answer questions. Remember, we buy your food, right? We are the customers? I could not understand the counter person (English is important to speak in this town) and she got a bit miffed when I asked her to repeat herself. I won't be back, that's for sure.
