In our mission to find the âbest Piri Piri in Algarveâ we ordered a takeaway from Albufeira Gourmet. Has all hallmarks of local authentic and we were optimistic. The price was good. The chicken Piri Piri was actually slightly unusually sweet. Complexity of flavour is fine, but this was unbalanced in terms of sweetness.Hence overall, it was ok, but not in consideration for best in Algarve for Piri Pri. That prize for us went to A Rampa in Monchique.

The 'daddy' of all chicken piri-piri restaurants. Yes, you read it here first! If you want the original and the best, go no further. This restaurant has the best chicken piri-piri on the Algarve, including all the restaurants in Guia (self-proclaimed 'home of chicken piri-piri')... Sr. Lança, the owner, has perfected the recipe and all the necessary add-ons to make this restaurant 'the' place to eat chicken. A great wine list to boot, with a very tempting array of homemade desserts to finish off a great meal. It's out of the way, off the main tourist routes, but a 5 minute taxi ride from Albufeira. Make the call - you won't regret it!

This hidden gem sits between a car wash and a BP Gas Station. We believe we arrived early for dinner but the staff were accommodating and friendly. Our invitees were a couple who owned a restaurant. They were impressed by the delicious and flavoursome chicken. When we hesitated about the wine selection, our waiter suggested one which was very good and paired very well with our dishes. Great staff. Prices are very reasonable. Definitely we will come again and bring our guests.

Doesn't look too fancy from the outside but inside its really nice and if you want to sample the Black Pork than this is the place to do it, amazing! Really nice place with nice, reasonably priced food
