Bistro De Margot

Once again, a wonderful experience - superb, classic French preparations, excellent waitstaff, timely but not rushed service, and a delightful chef/owner. The chef can make the best sauces for his entrees. The steak frites are always perfect. The honey citrus sauce for the duck magret was to die for. I saw several servings of scallops come out - I will definitely try that next time. His desserts take advantage of the fresh fruits of the seasons. In spring, I had the rhubarb tart - the best ever. Last night, the blueberry tart rivaled it. Burlington is so lucky to have Bistro de Margot.Thank you very much for your great review! We just replace the duck breast by a duck leg confit, served with sautéed fingerling potatoes in duck fat, finished with a hint of garlic and chopped parsley.Thank you for your loyalty and we hope to see you soon!

Leunig's Bistro

We’ve been coming here since we were students at UVM 37 years ago and will continue to stop by whenever we’re in town if they keep up the great food, service and ambiance. It’s like a little taste of Paris. The fries are the perfect combination of crispy and salty. I loved my petite filet, cooked exactly as I requested. My husband’s burger looked amazing. We started with a green tomato avocado gazpacho which was to die for! They offer 5 & 9 oz pours and a full bar including local beers. They often have live music. We showed up without a reservation on a super busy Friday night and enjoyed a glass of wine until two seats at the bar opened up so we could enjoy our meal there. I’d highly recommend.

Having just returned from a five week holiday in Provence and Spain, we thought it time to revisit Sotto Enoteca. We chose this spot partly because we didn't want to be disappointed after so many wonderful recent European meals. Not only were we delighted with every facet of our long dinner, Chef Tim was kind enough to stop by and say hello. Important to note, Sotto knows the proper manner in which to cook pasta, which American chefs too often overcook. I find this absolutely imperative for one to enjoying any pasta dish. Every dish, antipasto to dessert is plated with an obvious pride of work. Burlington has many wonderful restaurants, but this might well be the single best our Queen City has to offer. Any chance Burlington might repair the seemingly endless two blocks of construction directly in front of the restaurant?Thank you so much for your generous review! We are so glad you enjoyed your dinner, and a favorable comparison to the continent (where they truly do know how to eat) is much appreciated. The construction seems to be nearing an end and we will hopefully have some outdoor seating in the not-so-distant future. Hope to see you again!Sincerely, Megan
