Czarna Hancza River

Its the most beautiful river in Poland - floating through the national park in the Suwalki Region. Best spot for kayaking in Europe.

I used to make kayaking here during one day trip and also a few days trip. Every time it is awesome experience. It is quite cheap, good organized and you are so close to amazing nature. During kayaking you can buy food and also something strong :)
Do not miss it being there!

Post-Camaldolian Monastery in Wigry

Reviewed By StudioAsiemik - Amsterdam, The Netherlands

We've visited this place together with family and stayed over a weekend. The Monastry is a perfect place for time off on weekends and even on weekdays. The rooms are comfortable, food is very good and most importunely, once there, if you can switch off your mobile and internet, you can feel the nature, the rich heritage, and the ambience all around and, even enjoy some moments of bliss with meditation in the open nature and feel your inner silence. This is a must visit for those, who have time, and want to explore both nature and the heritage of the Monastry

Aqua Park Suwalki

Reviewed By MindaugasLi - Kaunas, Kauno Apskritis, Lithuania

This place describes itself as a big and very modern aqua-park. Well, this is not an aqua-park at all. Local gyms in our country have better water zones than this one. Plus, no one person in this place speaks English. No matter they hear you speaking to them English, they still continue asking questions and communicating in Polish... What a shame...
After spending 1 hour, we decided to leave because it was extremely boring.

Wigry National Park

Wigry National Park is one of a most attractive tourist places in north-eastern Poland. A great diversity of landscape forms, lakes, rivers and forest ecosystems create the outstanding tourist values of the Park. Lake Wigry together with the surrounding smaller reservoirs, creates a unique complex of lakes. Also valuable monuments of culture, with “centrally” located post-Cameldolite monastery as the most important one, influence a significant visual attractiveness of the landscape. The Park's headquarters, and Tourist Information Centre are located in the village of Krzywe.

This park is very remote and offers beautiful vistas of rolling hills and pastures. There are many little docks indicating fishing opportunities . We spotted a bike trail that I imagine would delight day trippers to the area . We were looking for a place along the way to stop for lunch, but there us not really anything geared to tourists.

Skansen Punsk

Reviewed By Janusz R - Warsaw, Poland

We visited Punsk during Haloween all-day tour around north-eastern Podlasie. The place is a typical skansen, rather small one - few huts with thatched roofs around the square grass yard. Inside there are topical rooms illustrating various aspects of rural life - kitchens, bedrooms, old beds and furniture, home "appliances" from before the electricity era, traditional clothes, primitive agricultural devices. Nothing particularly special, but quite interesting to see and very valuable as a museum preserving history of region which was very poor not so long ago but modernizing quickly now. Certainly worth paying a visit if somebody wants to know more about history of Suwalszczyzna region.

Sports and Recreation Centre Szelment

Reviewed By Jakub G - Bielsk Podlaski, Poland

While being in north-east Poland or Lithuania during winter this is one of the best places for skiing (other in Poland is Piekna Gora in Goldap), both downhill and cross-country. Of course it's nothing spectacular but 5-6 slopes, 200-300m each is enough for a pleasant afternoon. On the other hand it's not enough for the only attraction and to be only goal of the visit - but along with checking some forest for cross-country skiing and renting a sleigh raid (it's popular offer that goes with cottages or rooms to rent) it's a fair option.

Go-kart track is located underground parking in the shopping center Plaza so we can enjoy entertainment regardless of the weather. Our track bands consist of a tire attached to each other to absorb energy in case of impact. On the track it was installed precision timing system that provides up to date information on our progress.

We walked around the park and came to this place which obviously was closed but still offered some written information leading to our return in the morning for maps and directions. Nice service for someone new to Poland and English speaking .
