Lovely sushi! The rice was beatutifully tempered. Although it is really a take away place, we recommend eating the sushi right away there to get the full flavor before the rice cools down. Very simple front room, but all looks clean and neat, and the staff is very helpful and friendly. Will stop every time I go past Notodden now.

Stopped in for a coffee and perhaps a bite to eat one friday afternoon.
The menu is written on the mirrors behind the counter. There aren’t very many dishes to choose from, a few salads, and a burger option, one type of Sandwich (club sandwich), a few cakes/tarts, and pizza.
Despite this being a typical café in a small town, the prices are very high. NOK 140 for a salad is what you expect to pay in Oslo or Bergen; the burger will set you back a whooping NOK 180! The pizza is advertized on a separate blackboard, but without prizes or size...
I settled for a coffee and a slice of chocolate cake (a total of NOK 86,). For a slice of cake costing NOK 61, I was hoping for something better. It was okay, but not worth the cost, as the crust was dry and flaking off in places. The quick trip in the microwave didn’t really help.
If the temperature permits, do sit outside, since the staff plays loud music making it difficult to have a conversation at a normal level.
I have no idea of opening times, as I dint see any posters, but the two servers started cleaning and putting away the cakes, pouring out coffe etc at about 17:30, so I guess they close early.

An eclectic range of food from Pizza to Egyptian and Lebanese. A good choice of drinks including some good smoothies. Food portions were very good. The pizza is large with plenty of topping and accompanied by a salad. Free parking next door.

OK place to go for a quick bite. Appreciated by the locals. They haven´t lost the knowledge to serve spicy food, if you are so inclined. As stated in the header, they seem to use a bit less sugar in their cooking than you often will find in

It’s nice to see that the town finally has a proper restaurant!
It is located in the middle of the town, in a nice old building. The interior is kept in nice colours, with good chairs.
The staff is still a bit new I guess, as they lack a bit in the curtsey department... You will most likely be met with a “are you gonna eat or what?” as the waitress approaches your table with a menu.
During our visit, a total of five parties were greeted in this manner. Apart from this, the staff is friendly and nice, and does their best to answer questions and help with any enquiries.
The menu is short and simple, with a selection of both fish and meat dishes, a few salads and light dishes.
It is a bit expensive, but well worth a trip!

On a lazy Sunday, we decided to take a trip to Notodden to try out the new Café, situated at the old train station. The building itself is newly restored, and kept in tasteful, old fashioned dark colors. The café seats about 60 persons. And...MoreHello uberelfer! Thank you for your review last year.
