A visit to this old wooden church was one of our stops on a road trip through Scandinavia. It's an incredible piece of workmanship and quite unlike any church we have ever seen. We are fortunate that this piece of Norway's history has been so well preserved.

First of all, the landscape is beautiful. Of course, when we were there the sun was out. The medieval Stave Church is breathtaking and many photos were taken. After a short walk, you will go to the Heddal open-air museum which was a delight. The 15 buildings date from the Middle ages to more recent times and have been moved from their original locations to the museum. There is a charming cafe lit by candles as many of the buildings are not particularly bright. While you are in he cafe, you can enjoy the beautiful rose painting done in 1784 by the folk artist, Olav Hansson. My grandchildren had fun with the stilts and some of the old-fashioned games that were available for them to use. They were delighted to watch the chickens and the rabbits that were in pens as the Heddal museum is to show how farmers and the tenant farmers lived so many years ago. The modern information center had a very nice cafe with some very enticing cakes.. .

handcraft and several performs of traditional music, poetry, and folkdances, which are special for Telemark.

Tinnfossen is just another of Norway great Waterfalls who spectators of great Waterfalls would love to see. Great thing the water is drinkable and very fresh.
