Aurora Spirit

Aurora Spirit is a unique distillery that attracts international attention with its spectacular location. The Lyngen alps, the fjord, the northern lights and the arctic wilderness provide an excellent setting for making whisky and other alcohol products under the brand name Bivrost. The products are based on local herbs, berries and melted glacier water. The northernmost distillery in the world offers guided Whisky tours, Whisky tastings, visits to an old NATO base, bathing under the northern lights and RIB - boat trips under the Lyngen Alps.

A combination of a ribboat journey with Lyngen Adventure on the wonderful Lyngenfjord and a lunch and a tour inside the Aurora Spirit Bivrost gives the day the extra touch! When visiting the Lyngen municipality you should find time for this marvellous combination and the possibility to visit this distillery

We were there for dinner and we loved it! The ciders in the flight assortment taste really different and are delicious. I regret that I couldn't come earlier to the shop to get all the explanations about how they are made and how you obtain this variety of flavour starting mostly from fermented apples ! Besides that the food was another good surprise: this Turkish/Scandinavian fusion was superb. I ate dishes I had never eaten before, and I enjoyed all of them. We got 5 mezze for around 500 kr (2 people), which is a really good price for Norway especially when you get this high quality dishes! Also, the service was really fast and professional.

Found this online staying down the road at the Clarion Hub Hotel. If you are not looking, you will miss it, there is just a small “H” on the wall outside and then you walk in through a curtain to a Victorian, Willie Wonka style bar dimly lit with plush leather high chairs and tables to sit at. The menu gives plenty of unique inspired Nordic cocktails made largely from in the premise distilled gin, vodka and aquavit, plus some others. They will also whip up any other cocktail you wish for from the lab coat-donned mixologists! A very groovy vibe and not to be missed, thoroughly enjoyed it!

Great place, nice athmosphere og the service is excellent. Their own brewed beer is so good ???? Order and pay by the table and the beer and food are brought to you. I love the Mørkredd-beer with habanero and liquorice. The first time i will recommend to order a «planke» (Plank) to try the 9 different types of beer in small glasses.
