We chose to book ahead at this lovely Swiss Auberge after reading good reviews and we were certainly impressed. My husband chose the steak after reading it was good and he was very happy, as was I with my chevre chaud salad - very ample portions, delicious! The local beers were also excellent The atmosphere was lovely, very busy, seated near an open window very comfortable. Highly recommend for a typical Swiss experience in GenevaDear Margaret,Thank you very much for letting us know more about your recent experience at the restaurant. We had two lovely steaks cooked the way we like them, medium, medium rare. The desserts we had were cheesecake and trio of desserts (crème brulee, chocolate mouse, and lemon meringue). All washed down with a nice half bottle of house red wine. The service was good and the atmosphere just right. It was a good birthday dinner. The bill was chf156 which included a hefty chf10 for 80cl of water. Don't think there is a need to charge so much for water.

Great little mom/pop diner to enjoy traditional Swiss meal. We had the cheese fondue...but our favorite was the Swiss Cheese Melt (Raclette). The Swiss macaroni and cheese with bacon is also very good. They do not offer American chocolate fondue but they do have other desserts. The restaurant is a bit off the beaten path and parking is limited. They close between lunch and dinner so make sure they are open before you go. Also just a warning that they didn't seem to speak much English at all so ordering was more difficult if that is your only language. Nonetheless, we enjoyed our meal and the Swiss Cheese Melt (Raclette) alone made it worth any difficulties! Delicious!

I don't have much to say... I turned up (it was just me), asked for a table for 1, and the woman was really rude. She said something in French, and I said I don't understand, do you speak English (in French). She just shrugged her shoulders and pointed to the door. She couldn't have cared less...

Versoix has many good restaurants and the vieux-port is one of the best in my opinion. The service is excellent, the food is delicious, innovative, nouvelle cuisine inspired and beautifully presented. The atmosphere is warm and friendly.

The cafe is located in Old town beside the Banc de la treille. It also looked like they have outdoor dining areas by it to see the views. Keep an eye out for the sign by the entrance on the walls of the old building. There was plenty of seating inside but I did book beforehand as I only had a night there. Service was really good, water kept topped up and not rushing. The place did looks quite fancy but it was also very relaxed so it was easy to just sit there and enjoy the meal.Had a beer and that came with a fairly large bowl full of nuts and other salty treats. Nice to snack while perusing through the menu. I started with the quail pie and that was amazing. The pastry was crisp and flakey and the filling was rich and tasty. One of the best pies I've had, I would probably come back just for this. The sauce was just so flavourful. It came with a salad and bread, which was nice to dip into the sauce. For the main, I went with the civet coq au vin. The vegetables were all seasoned and cooked beautifully. I found the meat to be too dry. The sauce was delicious but quite lacking so that was disappointing. Think that if there was more sauce then the meat wouldn't have been as dry and been more enjoyable. The pistachio religious for dessert was nice. They even came and poured the chocolate "habit" over the pastry. A nice crispness to the pastry and the filling was tasty, as was the ice cream. It was an enjoyable experience overall and not a bad choice if you do only have one night in Geneva.

We escaped a convention at the PalExpo and walked across the street to this highly recommended restaurant for lunch. We had the special, with included a steak, fried potatoes and salad. Wine was extra, and we had a very good Swiss Gamay. Price came to about $58 each, which is a very good value in Switzerland. I liked the stuffed grizzly bear in the foyer & the fact the chef personally met the guests as they entered.

It is a classic french restaurant with a mom, pop, and son service. The food is excellent. Nothing groundbreaking, but excellent, which is exactly what good restaurants should strive for. The service was very friendly and adorable, and the prices were reasonable. I would definitely recommend the place to everyone.
