A very good hotel in a lovely village.
Reviewed By johnhouston2Hotel El Cid was easy to find, just inside the wall gate and check in was quick and welcoming. There is apparently lots of free parking on the streets of the village, but you should note that there are only a few spaces in front of the hotel. If you want to find street parking you have to turn left immediately before the hotel, and that street is where you should look for space. As things looked a bit busy on the parking front, when the receptionist offered us a space in the hotel garage for 10Euros we jumped at it, and I have to say that as far as entry space and the actual parking bays are concerned, it’s probably the best hotel garage I’ve ever used. The hotel is probably what you would rate as 2 star, which is reflected in the fact that instead of air conditioning there is a ceiling fan. Whether this becomes a problem later on, only time will tell! Our room on the 4th floor is spacious enough and very nicely furnished and decorated. It has a modern en-suite bathroom And it also has a balcony overlooking the valley below, with a couple of chairs to sit on. Our bed was very comfortable and, with some cool air coming in the partially opened window and the fan on, the lack of air conditioning wasn’t an issue and we slept very well. Breakfast was very nice and was brought to you. It consisted of orange juice, yogurt, melon, pane con tomate, cheeses, ham and, of course cakes (which is still a strange concept for me!). It was all very nice and was taken in a nice dining room overlooking the village walls.What a lovely way to start the day. Morella is a lovely village and Hotel el Cid is a perfect place to stay. Service has been warm and friendly and we would certainly stay here again.

Great location, good find
Reviewed By 133antonyqWe chose this hotel for its location, right in the town centre, and it was a great choice. The Staff are very friendly and helpful, and offer good service. The rooms are nice, well equipped and very clean. During the lockdown, as a resident, you can have a meal (and a drink) between 8-9 pm, which is a bonus as everywhere else closes at 6pm. Only downside for us was the pillow, for the double bed it’s the Spanish single type, we prefer a pillow each, which you can get from reception. Recommended

Reviewed By Felixstowe2016If you want to visit the castle stop here first to top up with good snacks and a meal, nice to sit out on the balcony at the rear of the bar. The little town we found very clean and the people very nice.

Nice gym, indoor hot tub, outside hot tub with decking for sunbathing, along with views right onto beach, glorious Rooms do not have kettle for tea coffee which is weird. The cafe/drinks awful; coffee out of machine not done by hand, Mediterranean bread is a white crusty roll... when asked why, we were informed they had run out of Mediterranean bread but didn’t think to inform us!!! Along with salad seeing better days, extreme let down; won’t eat here again.

Con menaje,plancha,tendedero, ropa de cama, electrodomésticos ,todo genial...nos enamoró la terraza al verla en fotos,pero en vivo es lomas disfrutable. Piscina comunitaria muy cuidada y a un paso de la playa.zona tranquila ideal para descansar.Eso si, recomiendo alquilar también la plaza de garaje ,es imposible aparcar. El aire acondicionado se paga aparte,pero no fue necesario,hacia un airecito muy agradable. muy recomendable.

Beautiful views but in need of renovations
Reviewed By Oana-and-VinceWe booked this hotel for two nights. Our room was very small and the bathroom even smaller. Clean but in serious need of renovations. Cracks on the walls, rusty handles in bathroom... Breakfast is simple but good. Very good location and super nice views from our room.

Wonderful room
Reviewed By John GTucked up, just off the beach, is a great hotel! Excellent, spacious room, modern and very well equipped. This is a real find. A welcoming smile from Lorena set the tone. Everything about this family run hotel said, welcome. There was secure, though tight, parking for our Audi Avant. A very brief walk and we were at the beach with plenty of bars and restaurants to choose from. Breakfast was plentiful and the coffee very good. Benicarlo may not be a number one destination for travelers but If you are going to be in this general area drive the few extra kms because this is definitely the place to lay your head.
