very good simple meal on the beach.. the owner was so accomodating and friendly. the food was simple, fresh and delicious.. drink any portugese wine they are all good and drinkable

Weâve come to the restaurant to have a dinner with my wife and son - both like octopus. Ordered the one which was positioned as âspecial dish of the restaurantâ. However this âspecial dishâ was completely overcooked (see picture). It was impossible to eat and we returned the dish.When we said about that we expected the restaurant to replace the dish however they didnât.Then we expected them not including this into the bill - it was charged in full(.This case and disloyalty to customers spoiled all positive impression about this restaurant.To be completely fair, I should say the meat & chicken salad which we also ordered -they were good.

Having read excellent reviews about this restaurant, we decided to try it during our stay in Portimao. My wife ordered the crab and I ordered the grilled tiger prawns.After waiting our dish for 1h30 the crab finally arrived, however no sign of the prawns. When I asked the waiter when it the tiger prawns will arrive, he told us to finish the crab first! even we asked to have all together. 45 minutes later the prawns finally arrived. The dish was so oily and salty that we couldn't eat any. After asking the bill, we again had to wait. Will definitely not go back to this place.

This was one of our favourite places to dine. Sadly itâs gone downhill rapidly and is merely trading off its location. We have spent thousands there over the years. Never again. I called to make a reservation; a rude man told me they were busy and then hung up. Eventually I was able to book. Once we arrived, it took an eternity to order. Other tables were shown the fresh fish; we werenât. Drinks werenât poured. Empty glasses etc were never cleared. The food was very poor. It genuinely has the hallmarks of someone like me who can barely cook an egg popping into the kitchen for the evening and âhaving a goâ. The menu never changes, but the standard of the food has collapsed. There were two black human hairs in the couvert cheese. They have a great location and seem happy to take peopleâs money for a poor product and poor service. A terrible shame as it was once a really nice place. Donât waste your money; Avoid!

We went to this restaurant on the recommendation of a friend who lives in the building above the restaurant. It was lovely, fresh fish that was done perfectly, lovely wines and ports and the service was so friendly and excellent. The couple who run it are wonderful hosts. I would really recommend a stop here if you are in the area.
