We had tried to book several other restaurants in the area which we normally visit- but they were all booked up. Cromore were able to take us. The restaurant was very busy when we arrived- which is a good sign. Set menu was traditional- with good choices. Starters arrived very quickly- but unfortunately we then had to wait for an hour for main meals. This was a long wait for the children in the party. Dinner was traditional fayre. All seemed to enjoy the meal. Waitress kindly apologised for delay and said there were two full rooms of customers being served by one kitchen. It was understandable- but if you are visiting -steel yourself for a wait if it looks like a busy day. Alternatively- order lots of starters!

Located near the station but in opposite direction from the beach. This cafe is upstairs but is spacious and it offers a wide selection of eats. Their scones are beautiful and especially washed down with a good coffee! The place can get busy.

Morelli’s is brilliant at ice cream but for breakfast...... 3 of us almost finished before the 4th was served. Drinks finished before breakfast arrived. Worst though - everything was cold. There are much better places for breakfast in Portstewart.

The New York Grill Bar

Reviewed By Richard John S - Belfast, United Kingdom

Went on Friday 3rd November. Place was quiet for a Friday night. 8 tables in the restaurant and 5 waiting staff and 1 bar staff that we could see. Had to ask someone to take our drinks order after being seated. Starters came. I had soup my partner had chicken wings. They where covered in sweet chilli sauce and not very tasty and left his hands a complete mess he had to go to the bathroom to wash his hands. Main course was definitely quantity and not quality. Large portion of duck but was very tasteless. My steak that I had asked for medium was cooked well done. No one came near us the entire meal to check if we wanted more drinks( we did) and after we finished we sat with the empty plates for 20 minutes whilst the waitress was setting up tables beside us. The other stood at the bar or food pass. We had to walk up to the bar and the response was ah that’s typical of here, I’m sorry I only work behind the bar. I asked did the buzzer on the tables not work (they had electronic buzzers on tables to ring for service, we pressed in continually to no avail) and he said he didn’t know anything about them. I went home and rang the hotel and they took my name and number and I am still waiting for the manager to call me no apologise over one week after my disgusting experience.
Couldn’t get over how bad the service was here and clearly the owner and manager don’t care about business as there are very many 1 * reviews. Will NEVWR return under any circumstance. Congratulations on achieving the worst restaurant on the causeway coast.

Whoosh

Thai & Vietnamese food.

Reviewed By Jellybellydancer - Burscough, United Kingdom

I'm not a big fan of sandwiches for lunch, so Whoosh sounded perfect for a light lunch while passing through Coleraine.
The menu is not extensive, but it still wasn't easy to choose; i ended up with chicken fried rice, Daughter 1 had beef and broccoli noodles and Daughter 2 had chicken satay skewers. After ordering, we took a seat at one of the tables. It is very 'no frills'; no cutlery, napkins or condiments on the table, they all come with the food, which is in generously sized take-away boxes.
I cannot fault the food, it was delicious. It tasted fresh and not at all greasy like some takeaways can. Best of all, when we were full, we simply fastened the boxes and took them with us for later...
We enjoyed it so much that we stopped of again a few days later ad I the most authentic Thai curry I've had outside Thailand. I only wish I lived closer!
