Get up close with an amazing array of fish while snorkeling, diving or fishing in the warm turquoise waters. Creeks, coral and costumed spectacles are other lures along the way. Great stay!

Reviewed By Rafeek84

As promised from last year, the team here at Best Western Hibiscus delivered on another great experience. Derron, Sonya & Sasha were pleasant and easy to coordinate with, since we book a year out. They were especially accommodating this year with our mobility needs which our group of seven appreciate so much. We got a wonderful welcome that came with snack bags because of the Rewards Program we are a part of. Parking was included for our car and the golf cart we rented. It stormed quite a bit, but the maintenance team had the pool sparkling & debris free every morning. For our long weekend, the hot breakfast StacyAnn setup was always different. She's a lovely morning personality. As are the housekeeping girls Maria & Anita; they were always on top of things we needed and flipped our rooms when we away. Great team here. We'll see you next year!

The location is everything for this resort great beach front and a quirky breakfast each morning. The owner was super friendly and would help with anything to make your stay. However bear in mind if you have problems with insects they are everywhere and they bit!!!! All we wanted was a simple room with one bed but would have expected a bit more room and furniture. All I can say it was an experience

A Room with a band

Reviewed By srsuave

When we checked into room 40, we were not told that there would be live music next door in the bar until until 11:30. If we had known this, we would not have booked this location. When we arrived back at the room, we could hear and feel the bass and the drum. We were not able to sleep until after the band stopped playing.

We spent 4 nights here. A really lovely place, that has a hint of nostalgia. Excellent staff who go out of their way to be helpful. Everything is clean and well maintained Loved the pool and pool area with towels, loungers. Enjoyed the pool aerobics one morning with friendly people. Nice landscaping well kept. The breakfast was better than we expected - fresh fruit, including small bananas grown on the property, boiled eggs, cereal, yogurt, baked goods, juice, good coffee, etc. Enjoyed the afternoon lemonade and cookies. We borrowed two kayaks and had a blast exploring the shore line for two hours. Kiki's sand bar is really fun very close by. Great live music. Bahia Honda is near and its an easy drive into Key West. The air conditioning unit was on the loud side. We turned it off and slept with the window open. They are aware of this, and unless the AC unites are replaced there isn't much that can be done. We were happy to trade this inconvenience for the old world charm of the resort. I hoped it doesn't become "developed"! We stayed in the unit named Grunt (which is a local fish - each unit is named after native birds and fish!).

Don't waste your time.

Don't waste your time and money here. After looking for months for something that would fit our group, this is what I ended up with but with trepidation, even online. Getting there was awful due to a lot of traffic. Finding a place to eat was awful. They gave us a place with steep stairs to climb to the bedrooms (that is not what I had reserved; they changed our reservation without notifying me). The rate is ridiculous. Don't waste your time or money here; not worth it.

Do Not Book on Hotels.com!!!!!!

Reviewed By DaveG99fl

I booked 3 nights for 4 people on hotels.com for memorial day weekend. I trailored a boat down 7 hours from clearwater Fl. When we arrived our reservation was non existent. Called hotels.com and they didnt do anything except give us a $250 gift certificate. Not sure who messed up but it was either the hotel or hotels.com. sucks when you arrive and your reservation doesn't exist. We ended up getting a room that had 1 bed and a sofa bed for 2 nights then we had to switch rooms into a twin double bed room for the 3rd night. The hotel gave us 1 free night. They worked with us but we spent 3 hours on the phone and in the office trying to figure it out. Not exactly what you want on vacation. The hotel was nice though but what a horrible experience checking in. DO NOT BOOK THIS PLACE ON HOTELS.COM

Very nice small and relaxing place

We stayed here in March for a night on our way to key west. Very nice small place that was clean and very quiet and relaxing. Off the road and walkable to places to eat and have a drink. We stayed up by the front but was a nice quick walk to pool and the view of the water. Greeted us with a cold beverage and gave us a place to go eat while our room was getting ready! We would stay there again.

Wonderful trip

Reviewed By MRQTN

We loved our stay! The resort advertises "comfortable, not fancy" and that accurately sums it up. The place was beautiful and reasonably, though not immaculately, maintained. Pros: the pool was very nice. It's large for the size of the resort and is tile. It has a fun dolphin mosaic at the bottom. It was well maintained and clean. There is some shade and some sun. The chairs were fine and there was a bin for water toys and floats. The gulf view is beautiful, and the lounge chairs by the water are nice. It's important to know ahead that it is a basking beach and not a sandy beach that you can access to play or swim. The water up to the resort was very shallow and had sea grass, etc growing in it. There is a nice outdoor eating area and hammocks. The tetherball was broken the first night we were there and was fixed promptly the next morning. We had a nice table outside our unit for our private use. The indoor furnishings were not great--the futon seemed particularly on the shabby side--but the beds were some of the most comfortable I have ever slept in while traveling. The linens were all white and high quality. Comments on things observed in other reviews: two kayaks remain and we enjoyed them. There are no paddleboat or canoes (as mentioned on the website and on the sign by the dock). I hope they add to the fleet and keep the kayaks. It's a nice additional activity on site. They even allowed us to check out the paddles overnight as our teenagers particularly wanted to have a sunset paddle. They loved it. The birds and turtles have moved to the dolphin center next door. Hopefully they will take the cages down and repurpose the area as it now looks a bit dingy. They brought in additional gravel for the parking area while we were there, so the management is maintaining and updating things. They had a good contactless system for fresh linens and necessities. The Keys are just expensive. While it wasn't cheap to stay here, it was the best value I could find for our dates. It was relaxing and we would love to come back! The nearby beaches were beautiful (Sombrero is particularly nice especially if you have smaller kids) and Key West was an easy day trip. Oh, and Christina in the office was amazingly helpful and friendly!
