Typical street cafe from outside. Inside looks very casual but love the way cafe table are dressed with cloths once you order food. Can order anything from pizza to more formal. Staff generally attentive. Reasonably priced. Not the most exciting food. Chicken was dry. Not for a special occasion but reliable.

Visited on a Monday for lunch. Just by chance we managed to get a seat on the veranda. Perfect view of the river . The waitress was very sweet and helpful in explaining the menu. We ate lamb cutlets-so tasty. The Godello wine was so good we bought 2 bottle to take home. Value for money â¬70 for 4 people including the 2 carry outs of wine. Will defiantly be back. Nearly forgot the swim was fantastic and the river was not cold ! Good to visit adega Romana. Excellent VR Mencia some of the best I have tasted . Louisesy, thank you very much for your words. We are delighted to know that you have had a great time in our restaurant. We are waiting for you next time :)

Small gem of a restaurant near the 'Roman' Bridge on the river. Opens at 9 pm. Very welcoming and attentive staff. They have menu in English but still needs explaining. Dishes are designed for sharing and are very good size. Two are sufficient between 2 and more can be ordered. Olives and water included. We went twice . The potatoes carbonara and pork dishes were lovely. The tortilla and vegetable tempura were a bit bland and dry but still good. Chocolate brownie with lemon and basil ice cream very good. All puddings looked good in fact. Hard to choose which to have.good value at this standard. Popular with locals. Regarding commend.

This meal will go on to my list of memorable meals. Top quality ingredients were used in dishes that were interesting and beautifully prepared. Service was attentive, helpful and friendly, the restaurant was light and airy with attractive table settings. Our table had a view over the town. The wine was good. Strongly recommended.

Great place for barbecue lovers as there is a wide range of types of meat. The speciality of the place is called "picaña", which I had. This course is formed of 7 different types of meat, from which you can repeat if you want more. There is also a wide rande of starters and deserts, I personally recomend the croquets or octopus as starter and the cheese cake or the mango ice-cream for puding. The region is well known by its wineries and the waiter recommended us with a delicious "MencÃa", red wine, which went down with the picaña extremely well. The place is suitable to dinne in or out and very well looked after. Great atmosfere and welcoming service. A must repeat.

It's a nice place i like very much, everything is beautiful inside and outside. The food is good and well-decorated, even coffee with pictures ))) But the prises are enormous.There is also place for big parties like weddings, they serve very good.

We live locally and always tend to go in our usual excellent restaurants, Polar &JM's. We have now decided to try all the rated Restaurants to give an open & honest review! Where do I start...Welcome, friendly and this hidden gem reminds me of a favourite place in the UK decor wise. The staff were brilliant from the off and although they worked out we were British continued in Spanish which was so refreshing for our learning.The food was beautiful and we were spoilt for choice, Karen had the fish stew and I had solomillo, both cooked to perfection with a shared garlic mushroom starter. The wine options were excellent and the ambience fantastic, how have we missed this place? Simple....location. Because it is not en route from car park to central Monforte it is a hidden delight, please take a right out of the car park and experience this great venue. Counting the days until our next visit !

Lovely staff, nice selection of wines and tapas, the usual Galician restaurant fayre. I would have given 4 stars for the bar but only 3 for the restaurant given the choice. What was on offer was cooked well but one tires of the same old same old wherever one goes.
