Slightly sketchy
Reviewed By danielle8675309Stayed here because it was close to our family event and had great reviews. Not sure I agree with those reviews. The room was clean but the rest of the building was kinda sketchy. There was some weird message stenciled in the elevator and apparently everyone loves to etch their name in things. If you are just looking for a place to sleep for the night, it’s fine. If you want a great experience, maybe try somewhere else.

Also, we were pleasantly surprised with Richmond's offerings (Thistlewaite Falls, Art Museum, Hayes Arboretum, Roscoe's, Ullery's, Little Sheba's......). Thank you Richmond!

Reviewed By Riaz AThis place is great if you are on a budget. Located centrally in Richmond and close by to all the stores. Great rooms, very spacious and they get cleaned everyday. There is a heated swimming pool and a mini gym as well.

A good place to rest my head after a long day of driving from New York
Reviewed By Richard BFairly typical Holiday Inn room with two beds. Very quiet and comfortable. Enjoyed the swimming pool before going to bed. Wish there would have been a jacuzzi hot tub too. The restaurant did not appear to be open for breakfast. We walked by and nobody was there. The hotel entrance is located right next to i-70. The entrance ramp to i-70 West was closed which made it kind of difficult to find our way out of town in the morning. We ended up going east to the next exit and was finally able to get on i-70 towards the west.

We are a 131-Guest room hotel. We have 10 King suites With King and Double Queen bedded rooms, also a few suites and suites with Hot tubs. Have a few King Rooms w/Hot Tub. Also we have a large swimming pool and game area. This Hotel was renovated in August 2018 , with New Owners and Management.

Reviewed By dparker289We ended up at this hotel when the other hotels in town were all sold out. We felt fortunate to get a room but that grateful feeling didn't last. The desk clerk was rude and argumentative. The floors of the elevator were dirty - dirt was caked into the elevator door tracks as if they hadn't ever been cleaned. The hallway smelled of vape. The room smelled and the AC/heater/fan gave off a peculiar odor. The bathroom had only a couple towels - which looked thin and worn out. When I went to the desk and asked for some additional towels, the desk clerk gave me a bath mat and a hand towel. Everything about this place just looked worn out, damaged, or dirty. The price was the same or more than the other hotels in the area.

The only issue I had is when we arrived and checked in the front desk clerk started to talk about Jesus and God to me. I am a Christian but I did not appreciate him talking that way to me he did not know what was my religion or anything it was highly inappropriate for that to be taking place at a hotel by the front desk.

Smith Bed & Breakfast is an absolutely lovely place with gorgeous wood inlay floors (the original owner/builder made his fortune in lumber according Jill, the home’s very knowledgeable current proprietress), lovely tiffany windows, and charming dining and lodging rooms. My daughter and I stayed in the first floor room that was the home’s original dining room, and it was so pretty with lovely wood paneling around the doors and ceiling, a beautiful large tiffany window, and perfectly chosen furnishings. I was able to see several of the upstairs rooms as well and they too were very nice. The breakfast was delicious with the best orange juice I’ve had in years. If we should ever make our way back to Indiana, we’ll definitely stay here again. One additional note: the town of Richmond IN is FULL of gorgeous old Victorian houses that could be refurbished into veritable palaces, much like the Smith B&B. There are also charming cottages from the early 1900s. In a way, it reminds me of Savannah GA in that there are so many lovely historic properties. If historic preservation/renovation is your thing, (and you’re lucky enough to be retired or to telework full time), you should definitely check it out.
