Model T Ford Museum

The Model T Museum is nestled in the heart of Richmond, Indiana’s Historic Depot District. Once “the” transportation mecca of the 19th century, it is now a “must-see” destination filled with notable architecture, unique shops, stunning murals, fun and fabulous restaurants, a chocolatier, a microbrewery and much more! Ranked #1 by Trip Advisor of attractions in Richmond, Indiana, the museum’s amazing collection of vehicles and T-related memorabilia is ever growing and changing. Among the stars are a 1909 touring (one of the very first Ts), a 1923 English-built town car, a 1925 fire truck, a 1927 coupe (one of the last Ts) and a 1931 Pietenpol airplane with a Model T Engine. Educational opportunities include an extensive reference library; a cutaway chassis that reveals the inner workings of the T; plus a variety of manuals, publications, CDs and restoration DVDs available for purchase. The museum welcomes school and tour groups.

This museum was a great find. In addition to the mint condition 100 year old Model T Fords to see, there is a wealth of information on how Ford started new car options and after-market sales. Ask Justin for a quick tour and he will describe the Model T's evolution and Henry Ford's marketing strategies. If you are on the Interstate passing by Richmond, this museum is a great stop. If you are even remotely interested in automotive history, you will love this place!

Our kids enjoyed playing at this park. It has 2 large playground areas with restrooms and a small splash pad area. The splash pad is small but it pleases the little ones just fine. Lots of seating areas and shade with picnic areas available. Does not cost to park or play.

This museum was a wonderful find. We went there by suggestion of Trip Advisor and were so pleased. There is so much to see and very well put together. We really enjoyed the old vehicles that brought to life what it would've been like to...MoreThank you so much for your excellent review. We have a great collection but very few dollars to promote the Museum. We never have a disappointed guest.

This great little area of Richmond provides a little bit of everything!! There are shops to browse, history to explore, and eateries to enjoy, that offer live music and outdoor seating. Roscoe's, Little Sheba's, the Model T Museum, the 3-floor furniture store with the train exhibit and in 2017 the remodeled train depot, just to name a few.

I have lived here most of my life and had occasion to stop in recently. Interesting to see the things past that we have forgotten.

This is an (almost) hidden gem in our city, and we are so lucky to have it. It's wonderful to witness our world how it looked before mankind started cutting all the trees down and taking over. There is a wonderful auto tour you can take, and also multiple hiking trails. They also hold special events throughout the year. The Hayes House on the grounds is simply beautiful. They auto tour drives past it, and members can rent it for the night as well. The Nature Center is a must-see too, full of interactive activities for the kids (and adults too).

We stopped this afternoon after shopping to have an appetizer and a glass of wine. The spinach artichoke dip was enough for the two of us for lunch and very good. I'm not a big fan of their wines, most are too sweet for me. I have never tried their beers but know it's distributed in Indiana and Zionsville has a tasting room.
