Reviewed By Sheffield1234Myself and my husband stayed here for my birthday and it was such a wonderful treat. The location is amazing - literally just on the seafront - and the whole experience was wonderful from start to finish. The rooms are lovely, beautifully clean and with great outdoor space to relax in the sunshine. The restaurant was fabulous, the food gorgeous and the views utterly breathtaking. Included as part of our stay was a spa experience and I’d definitely recommend trying it - even my husband who’s a spa denier loved it! The treatments were great and the English speaking staff could not have been more helpful. All in all it felt like a really special experience and one I’ll definitely be repeating. Highly recommended.

Great location but not impressed with the room
Reviewed By Judith EFantastic, central location but the room was disappointing, especially as we'd booked in January for a late August stay. We had to go up 2 steep flights of stairs with heavy cases. The sink didn't drain properly, the bathroom amenities were very basic, just 2 x shower gel sachets, no soap or anything else. The bed was more of a 'put-up' bed rather than a proper bed. The price doesn't really reflect the quality of the accommodation unfortunately.

The rooms are air conditioned with bathroom or shower with heated towel rail, hair dryer, toilet, telephone, alarm clock, internet connection DSL and Wifi, safe and flat screen TV with French freeview channels.Rooms are individually decorated in a proper to each of them, in the pure style of the houses of the island.Soak up the sun on the terrace. The hotel has a private and secured parking (offer to the Guests who have resered their room directly with the hotel) down the summer crowds where peace is the priority.

Reviewed By Aimee RWe spent 4 nights in this hotel and couldn’t recommend it enough. As we booked directly with the hotel we got free secure parking. The location was great and only a short scenic stroll to the harbour. Room was comfortable and nicely decorated. Most of all the owners were fantastic and willing to help with any query or request we had.

Le personnel très agréable pour nous accueillir. la chambre était propre et plutôt correct en terme de taille. Après la déco de la chambre... surprenante et pas vraiment à mon goût ni dans l'esprit de l'île de Ré mais bon il manquait de rien alors je vais fermer les yeux sur une déco que je trouve moche.

Untrustworthy Hotel be very careful when booking
Reviewed By B246GNkaysI had booked a stay here I made a telephone booking and for a particular date as I had an alternate booking elsewhere the following day. They confirmed my booking over the phone and took my credit card details. When I arrived on the date of my booking they claimed that the booking was for the following date which was incorrect as I already had an alternate booking the next day. I suspect they had taken a more expensive booking and bumped my booking to the next day and claimed that it was an error on my part. I was stuck on in Il de Re peak of summer without any accomodation on a saturday night this was appalling and hotels should not be allowed to get away with this. To top it off they additionally took 30% as a cancellation fee despite their error in making the booking for the wrong date. They were refusing to accept that the error was at their end. AVOID places like this, they shouldnt be allowed to function in such a dishonest fashion. Appalling service.

The owners, Nicolas and Caroline, are welcoming, friendly, and helpful. The villas themselves are modern and well kept. We'll definitely be back again!

Very nearby, you will also find the Arnérault beach to enjoy the sea water, as well as the village center of La Flotte with its little harbour and its medieval market during the summer. The campsite also offers you bike rental. Go discover the Île de Ré through its 100 km of bike paths and admire the scenery during your stay with your family, friends or as a couple.
Great family campsite overall - but needs a few changes
Reviewed By RachDomLeoOwenPros: - Good price / value - Kids loved the pool - pool was always very clean - bouncy castles, games room etc great for kids - excellent location just on edge of beautiful town La Flotte - good pizza at the onsite snack bar - giant supermarket 5 mins walk away - lovely setting in pine forest, plenty of shade Cons: - All 3 toilet / shower blocks are pretty terrible and seriously in need of updating and far more frequent cleaning. Often they were disgustingly filthy. Showers that just dribbled, no soap anywhere, toilet paper always stuck in the dispensers, etc etc. We have stayed in another flower campsite and the toilets were much better!!! - We took our own tent and ended up having to take it down and repitch in a different space TWICE which was a giant hassle. First time, they gave us a really terrible tiny pitch, not nearly big enough (smallest pitch on the site) and right on the road - terrible for the kids. They initially refused to move us even though we'd booked our trip 7 months before! We made a big fuss though, and they eventually moved us to a pitch that we could actually fit in and where our children wouldn't be playing ON the road. Then 2 days later we had to move again! Because the system they use for marking out the pitches is awful and it turned out that not only were we in the wrong section, but so were at least 5 other families along the same side of the campsite. They need to sort this out and also they need to send a staff member to accompany new arrivals to avoid pitching in the wrong place! Not difficult to do. Overall I would definitely recommend for family camping, but make sure you get them to take you to your pitch before you set up! And remember the loo roll!!

To make your vacation a complete success, we strive to provide you with high-quality equipment, clean and pleasant rentals, as well as a secure and enclosed environment. We remain attentive to your needs and wishes, but also value your privacy. We want you to feel at home!
Awful experience on leaving the hotel.
Reviewed By Niall76Be careful when you check out, we decided not to pay the 70 Euro surcharge for cleaning as our party consisted of my elderly mother and older sister (mid-fifties) who were happy to clean the apartment on the final day. On that day the owner visited at 09:30 and cleared the apartment as suitable for vacating, he also kindly allowed us to leave our luggage on site until lunchtime when we had a taxi booked for our trip to the airport. On returning to the apartment and with a taxi waiting we were set upon by the owners wife who claimed the apartment had been left 'filthy' and it had taken 5 people 2 hours to clean it to an acceptable standard. This came as quiet a shock as the apartment was cleared at 09:30 and had been cleaned top to bottom by two people in the morning. Two respectable people with high standards of cleanliness. They could offer no proof of their claim as they had cleaned the apartment again. The approach of the owners wife was abusive, aggresive and verging on threatening. At one point we were referred to as 'filthy English' (being Welsh this displayed not only a lack of manners but also ignorance). We were verbally berated and the 75 Euros was demanded of us. As our taxi and flight were waiting my elderly mother in her mid seventies was pressed for the money (I only arrived at the tail end of the scene), she handed over her credit card and told the owner her conscience was clear, take the money if he wished. He clearly has some regret at this point as he decided to take half the amount. This behaviour was at best merely dishonest and at worst calculated and deceptive. Until our return to the apartments we had actually had a discussion as to whether we should return the following year, we shall not. If you go, pay the cleaning surcharge or beware.
