Like most of the restaurants in France, they offer what they call Formule meaning a formula meals that include an entrée, a main and a dessert. They not only offer it at a cheap price but the quality was excellent and with an additional tray of cheese.

If you want rustic food and large portions don't come to the Vielle Tour, but if you appreciate the subtle use of flavours and beautifully presented food then this could be for you. I would have given this 5 stars if the desserts had been up to the standard of the excellent starters and main courses but this aside I would happily eat here again. The contempoary dining room is comfortable and the Service was very good. Good choice of local wines

Very welcoming, with a locally-sourced menu, all prepared in-house. Delicious food, from the two amuse bouches, a delicate goat-cheese and spinach starter, through to the home-made desserts. Good-sized portions. Good local wine list. All for a remarkably low price for the standard given. We will certainly be returning. No English is spoken, so take a dictionary if you need one. Well worth the effort.Ample close parking.

We stopped here for lunch on our last day in this region as it was recommended in the visitor's book in our gite. We chose the menu de jour and mistakenly thought that 'saumonette' was something to do with salmon! It turned out to be two small pieces of catfish, which contained more bone than flesh, cooked in a bacon sauce and served with courgettes, which made it quite tasty. We ordered the dessert and waited a very long time - there were no visible waiters - and eventually, we asked if our dessert had been forgotten. When it arrived the waiter did apologise saying that it was his fault. The cream brûlée with redcurrants, physalis and strawberry was very nice and we finished our meal with coffee. The restaurant was not too busy and we ate our meal in the open air, enjoying the sunshine.Dear Guest, Thank you for this detailed review about your time at Restaurant Les Trois Marchands Hotel in Cour-Cheverny.We are pleased that you took full advantage of our service on the terrace during the fine weather, where our guests may have the opportunity to observe Village life.We are sorry for any delays you had encountered at lunch. Generally speaking, for an establishment like ours which offers fresh food, cooked on-site and cooked by the minute for certain dishes, there will always be a little wait. Our team comprise of 12 permanent staff for the entire restaurant, and whilst the wait in your case is rare, we do offer up our apologies, and hope that you were still able to delight in the high quality of our restaurant food, regardless. All of the team do hope we have the pleasure of seeing you again. Prompt, friendly service and delicious food! It was a nice place to relax after touring the home and grounds. Our waitress and waiter were friendly (our waiter was excited to try our his English). We enjoyed watching children play with the Legos, while their parents relaxed over dessert or a last cup of coffee. Also an area to order ice cream and smaller sandwiches.

Chez Madeleine

Thanks to several good reviews by other TripAdvisor members, we decided to test this restaurant. We had dinner on the terrasse. The look of this two-year old restaurant is particularly design, clean and pleasant. The Chef, in his thirties, has already a quite long career in fine food including some years working in the UK.My wife took the menu and I chose "a la carte".All preparations were made of particularly fresh and tasty ingredients. The dishes were creative, balanced and very well presented. My wife's cold melon soup was delicious. It was so good that, although I never eat desert, I asked at the end of my meal if I could have some of that melon soup for desert. The Chef prepared, specially for me, a dish with the soup and a ball of lime sorbet. Perfect. Each time we travel in the Loire region, we obviously drink local wines. The waiter recommended a Cour Cheverny (white) made of a rare vine, romorantin. Cheap and really fruity and crispy. Ideal during a warm day.To our taste, the test was successful. We recommend this reasonably priced place.*********************Many restaurants in European French speaking countries (France, Belgium, Switzerland) are called "Chez..." with the name, often a lady's name, of the founder or first cook. At the end of the meal, I asked the Chef why his brand new restaurant is called "Chez Madeleine". I was expecting his answer to be something of the kind "It was my Grandma's name. She taught me how to cook". To my great surprise, his answer was "Because my daughter's name is Madeleine". I then asked "How old is she"."She is six !"...This is a proof that this young chef prefers to look towards the future rather than the past...

We stumbled upon this lovely little crêperie while looking for a place to grab a bite to eat before visiting Cheverny. Both the crêpes and the galettes (savoury crêpes) were delicious. If the weather permits, make sure to grab a table in the inner courtyard and enjoy the country French ambiance of this little gem of a restaurant. Save room for dessert...the Tarte Tatin is over the top!
