Beautiful guesthouse in a serene environment

Reviewed By Wtraveler2017

I stayed at this guesthouse for 1 night on my way to Reykjavik from Arnarstapi town. The guesthouse is on a very beautiful farm. It is in a serene setting that will give you full tranquility. I checked into this hotel after I visited Arnarstapi town. It is about a 20-minute drive. The dinner and breakfast are nothing short of exceptional. The check-in reception is inside the restaurant. Just make sure you check in before the restaurant closes. It is a good place to stay if you can't find accommodations in Arnarstapi town.

Best vegetarian dinner and outdoor hangout area and great hospitality

Reviewed By W9735JPtaras

This guesthouse was not on our original itinerary for driving around the country and last minute find but I appreciate this place quite a lot. The staff are so sweet and hospitable. Had a friendly greeting upon arrival. As a vegetarian I asked if they can make anything for dinner and it was so so good. I was really impressed. Cute living room area with cards and an outdoor deck with beautiful view. We woke up too late for breakfast but they brought it back out so we could have something. That's super sweet and appreciated. Clean room and thank you for that. Would definitely recommend this stay. Would have paid more than I did to stay there. Thank you for your kindness.

Lovely Accommodations

Reviewed By HeardItBothWays

My husband and I stayed at Guesthouse Hof on our recent trip to Iceland and had a lovely stay. We arrived on a stormy afternoon. We were quickly checked in and directed to our cabin, which was at the end of the resort, closest to the ocean view. We were able to park right outside our cabin door. The cabins were adorable! The log-style with the turf roofs felt so fitting for the landscape. The cabin was clean and well-kept. Our host had prepared tea for us, which was so appreciated since it was so windy and stormy outside! The queen bed was very comfortable. The temperature was comfortable. We opened the windows a bit before going to sleep and they were a bit difficult to close but we were able to get them to closed. The bathroom was a little lacking in the number of hooks so we had to hang our toiletries on a hook outside the door. We paid $111.74 for our stay, which was very reasonable for the accommodations. We would definitely stay here again in the future!

We spent 4 days at Teigur Guesthouse and could have stayed much longer. The house is clean and well maintained. The couple that run the place live upstairs and couldn’t do enough for us. The apartment has two double rooms, living room, kitchen, bathroom and laundry facilities. It was cleaned to a high standard everyday while we were out and the fridge restocked with everything we needed. A fantastic base in Iceland just outside the capital where prices are slightly less breathtaking than the scenery. This would be the ideal rental for a group of friends/two couples to explore Iceland from

Really nice hotel

Reviewed By David L

Hotel Rjukandi is a tiny spot, but our travel company put us up here. I’m glad they did. Very nice, clean, comfortable, up to date rooms. The restaurant is special. Creative menu and really good food. A good value spot too. They have a cool little coffee shop up front with interesting baked pastries and cakes. The people who run this place were so nice. When we arrived they gave us a map of the area with hand written notes and directions to interesting sites in the area.

We loved staying here. The view from our room was sensational and we got to see the Northern Lights. The rooms are simple but clean and cosy. The best part was having dinner and being able to play records from the 3000+ record collection. What a treat! The food was yummy too and reasonably priced. The staff were all friendly. I would highly recommend staying here. It's a great base to explore the natural wonders nearby.

Mom and daughter road trip

Reviewed By Donna L

My daughter and I stumbled upon this awesome coffee shop / boutique hotel while traveling to West Iceland Peninsula on April 6-8. We stayed in the most awesome room with the most awesome view. What made our stay spectacular was seeing shooting star and then getting the rare experience of seeing the Northern Lights! I am attaching pictures of what I saw from their parking lot at 2:00am. Also, we used this hotel as a base camp while exploring the peninsula. The hostess was so gracious, warm and kind. I can't wait to visit in the summer! Also, the picture of my daughter in the window was our view!

Six rooms in a typical Icelandic house. Luxury in its simplicity in a beautiful comfortable house. The guesthouse offers six rooms with comfortable beds, access to a living room, dining room, TV room, two bathrooms and a nice equipmented kitchen. Outside there is a warm hot pot with healthy springwater from the hot spring Deildartunguhver. It is perfect also for groups.

A fantastic stay!

Reviewed By Val R

Two friends and I recently spent two nights at the Milli Vina. It's a great guesthouse, very clean, warm, welcoming and exceptionally well equipped, it's literally a home from home, and the cosy decor is superb. The kitchen has everything you can wish for, and it was a doddle to cook our evening meals and prepare our packed lunches. Breakfast is included, and so is free wi-fi. The location in rural Iceland is great (very rural but close enough to the Ring Road and to Borgarnes), and it proved to be the perfect spot to enjoy the Northern Lights from (yes, we were very lucky indeed). There is a hot tub that the guests can use, the water is from a geothermal spring, pretty unbeatable. Cinzia and Virginio are fantastic hosts, super-friendly, welcoming and a wealth of information on the area and on Iceland in general. We will be back, amici! Grazie di tutto! Valeria, Marco e Cristina.

A lucky strike

Reviewed By folliajuve

Travelling through the West Fyord of Iceland we stopped here for one night because a hotel nearby let us down on a short notice. A strike of luck actually!! This is the best accomodation we had during our stay in Iceland. It is a house recently refurbished by a group of architects and I can tell it looks more like an art gallery than a B&b. The hosts, Mrs Thora and her husband, were a very kind couple of teachers who decided to turn what once was a sheep barn in a beautiful place to accomodate tourists. A way to meet people too, considering that the house is in a very remote area. It lies near the sea where we took a walk to admire one of the most breathtaking sunsets ever. In the morning we had a delicious breakfast on a landing above the study : cereals, homemade jams, ham and cheese...everything we could ask for. Highly recommended.
