Reviewed By Sightseer49726548698Really nice hotel friendly but very shot staffed which is a shame , no minibar in the room either, would expect a little more from an isolated Waited for over 30 minutes for someone to come to the room and and fix the coffee machine , no one came so we gave up .. not great for the advertised standard

Reviewed By demaioLocation is wonderful. An old building completely restored with ability and clad maintained the hot Portuguese style. Nothing is missing , the rooms are spacious and super clean. The strong point are the two owners Carla and Sara , two sweet person with a high sense of hospitality. Perfect stay for all my friends team . I will come again there to continue to discover the Portuguese tradition. Alfonso

Good for short visit
Reviewed By 502jonwStayed 3 nights. Enjoyed Setubal and this small hotel. Our room was big...but storage space was very limited. There was a fan across the street from our room that was noisy...as was the music from the cafe downstairs. Help yourself honesty bar. Breakfast in the cafe was OK...but repetative. Weird waiting to be served alongside people who walk in off the street. Allowing guests to decide what they want to eat rather than the set menue would improve things. Overall not a bad place...perhaps for no more than 2 nights.

Reviewed By Sybren DWe had booked this place for 2 nights and are very enthusiastic about it. The apartment we had was clean and comfortable. But the most special about this place is the location (next to an old windmill on the top of a hill) with a magnificent view.

A whimsical flat in the heart of old Setubal
Reviewed By Dina MThis place is literally steps away from the statue of famous neoclassical port Manuel Bocage, Setubal’s native son. It has two apartments in the building #70, both located up one flight of a steep stairway. We were in an apartment L marked with a female head in honor of Luisa Todi, a 18th century soprano extraordinaire, also born here. The decor of the flat is extraordinary. You can see the singer’s image on one of the walls made if tiles of golden yellow and sea blue. A high vaulted ceiling is painted sea blue and walls are golden yellow. Everything is done in these two hues. There are musical instruments decorating the walls as well as engravings of cityscapes of towns Luisa got her success, like London, Paris, Saint Petersburg. A bathroom is another work of art in back and gold complete with golden musical score adorning a glass shower door. Of course, when so much thought and effort is given to the flat’s decor,it is fully equipped with everything a visitor may think of, complete with a beach umbrella. The only minus I can think of talking about this apartment is that it has no dedicated parking. One can park in the square for free after 19:00 or find a public parking within easy walk.

Reviewed By tracybetchleyWe have just come back from this great place. We was introduced to Matthew and Sandra from our other friends that we went with to celebrate double birthdays, with. The property is beautiful, peaceful and spotless. The rooms have been restored and decorated to a very high standard. The hospitality is outstanding, they couldn't do enough for us. The breakfasts were fab, too!. They even sorted out some restaurants out for us and giving us advise and organising a wine tasting for us. The property is truly beautiful!!. We all also fell in love with their dog Duke, he gave us all great greetings each day, I think we all wanted to take him home. Their daughters also greeted us on our arrival, which was very lovely. Matthew and Sandra also gave us history on the property which was very interesting. Just can't wait to go back and see what else they have done with place. BLT XX

Cosy with great host
Reviewed By paulobyWhat a great place a little off the beaten path. Isabelle is a great host. Her knowledge of the local area and her recommendations were first class. Sunset at the beach followed by dinner and amazing duck at a restaurant near by. Pool outstanding with a lovely back yard.
