Fantastic waking up in the morning and opening the shutters to see the fog over the river plain below slowly evaporate - the scene unfolding gently. The "Casa" sits on 2000 years of history, some of which was still being uncovered around the grounds, while the grounds themselves sit on medieval, Moorish and Roman remains.

If you want to discover the surrounding area, hiking, visiting the caves or tasting local cuisine, this place is great for it. Close enough to most of the attractions while not being too close. Also it’s one hour from Lisbon, very good for some long weekend fun Loved staying here and I’ll be coming back for sure

Reviewed By rhysw552016This place is for those who want a little more character than we often see in hotels these days, with their cookie-cutter approach to decor and style. Not that this place lacks anything in terms of quality, comfort and service - it is right up there with the best. They have such interesting and imaginative things decorating the hotel and it is great to just explore and see them - nothing boring or bland here. The rooms are a nice sizer with comfortable beds and additional heating (that is put on prior to your arrival - a nice touch). The breakfast was amazing - I dont eat a big breakfast but made an exception here - everything was so fresh that I just inhaled it.

Reviewed By charlobeThe host was really friendly and welcomming! We were greeted with a small glass of local wine as he told us about the city and what to see on our short stay (1 day). The place is really clean and the smell of freshly baked buns at breakfast overlooking the city from the small terrace made this a «must stay»- place. A great value for at a low cost.

The family-run establishment Residencia S. Francisco is situated in Fatima, just 50 meters from the Sanctuary of Our Lady of Fatima. It offers free Wi-Fi and rooms with elevator access. The rooms are simple but elegantly decorated and include a flat-screen TV. The private bathroom has a shower. Every morning a continental breakfast is served in the breakfast room. The surrounding area includes a variety of restaurants, shops and museums, about 5 minutes' walk. The A1 motorway is 3.4 Km and includes access to both the city of Lisbon as Oporto.

Reviewed By senorsenhorOnly around 50 metres from the East entrance to the sanctuary, the position couldn't be much better. I had a fourth floor room at the back of the hotel. It had a good view of the basilica, it was wonderful to have the window open and listen to the bells. These seemed to stop by the way at 10pm, and start again at 7am. Room was simple, with a flat screen tv. Not many channels, but I don't imagine anyone goes here to watch tv. Good hot water supply in the bathroom. Simple continental breakfast of bread, cheese, ham, jam, and coffee. I only stayed one night, but will be back. Next time, I don't imagine I will be looking for any alternatives to this hotel, and that says it all.

Amazing value, historic building, excellent food, hosts very welcoming

We loved our room( the only one left when we booked nine months in advance so can be very busy) which was large and well decorated in keeping with the age of the building. The tiles in the generous bathroom were hand painted, a typical example of the attention to detail. There was a generous sitting room just next door as well as an elegant breakfast room. We arrived early but we were well looked after by Susannah who also made us some afternoon tea. It was a lovely day so we were able to sit by the delightful pool which was warm enough even for those who do not like cold water. The highlight of the stay wa dinner in the atmospheric dining room. Despite my food intolerances they cooked us a tasty three course meal and the ambience was one of the best we have experienced anywhere. The host even played for us on some Fado music which was recorded locally. The most amazing part of the whole stay was the cost, such good value for money for an excellent spacious room, wonderful dinner experience and generous breakfast. We highly recommend you include this hotel on your itinerary. The countryside location near the River Tajo, next to pretty Constancia was an added bonus.

Highly recommended - quality accommodation with great balcony and view
Reviewed By jone92Arrived in Tomar and found the accommodation we had booked was pretty grotty we had to find somewhere to stay at short notice. Absolutely delighted we found this hotel which had availability and was central in Tomar. Booking direct they bettered the rate we could find online and when we asked to see the room before saying yes it was no problem and we were told with confidence that we would like the room. We certainly did. It had plenty of space and was finished to a very high standard and looked like it had been renovated recently. Had a kitchen area on our floor which was handy and a fridge and nespresso machine in the room. The crowning glory was the big terrace which had electric blinds which, when raised, revealed a fantastic view of the Templar Castle and convent - a real Wow! Would thoroughly recommend this place - superb and host very helpful.

Reviewed By vanessa pNice little hotel, clean, kind staff and 24h check-in. The room is quiet, bed confortable. The breakfast is simple but good for the price, with ham, jam, juice, cereals, sliced cheese. And we can park in front.
