Reviewed By annlK9593RSI had such an amazing time at mizata that I extended my stay by a whole week. The staff here is so sweet and goes above and beyond to make sure you are comfortable and having fun. The food is amazing every dish I had in as finished with no crumbs left. Kevin and Daniel are always making sure every question and concern I have is addressed and are what made my experience so special. The rooms and views are spectacular as well and you are truly steps away from the beach. Erick was my surf coach and he is without a doubt the best surf coach I’ve ever had. I had so much fun surfing with him everyday and progressed so much in such a short amount of time. Roco is an awesome tour guide and I throughly enjoyed every tour I went on with him. Overall my stay was perfect and I really cannot wait to be back!

The outdoor shower is so refreshing to bathe under the canopy of a blue and cloudless sky (at least while we were there). The staff is extremely kind and friendly, but, not in an intrusive way. If you need anything they are at your leisure. My daughter and I truly enjoyed our 2-night stay to reconnect after her last 2 semesters away at college. I enjoyed trying the variety of meals on offer. It was all pretty consistent and very good. Would definitely stay here again just to slow things down and contemplate. We are located in the heart of the Santa Elena residential area, one of the most exclusive areas of San Salvador. Within walking distance you will find the American Embassy (500 meters), Avante financial and business center, La Gran Vía Entertainment Center, Multiplaza, CIFCO (International Fair) and more. We are located just 45 minutes from Comalapa International Airport and 20 minutes from the port of La Libertad.
Good quality at a reasonably price
Reviewed By StranatsHotel Santa Helena is situated in a quiet area. With proximity to embassies (especially the US embassy), the area is amongst the most secure you could find! The hotel itself is nice and quiet. There is a small garden. Rooms on offer are of varous sizes, from double/single use rooms to multi-bed roooms. The standard is comfortable, but not luxurious. Cleanliness is very good and I found staff service also very good. There is a small garden with a small pool and outdoor seating underneath a canopy. Breakfast is served every morning - good, but again, not luxurious. There is parking inside hotel premises. The drawback of the hotel is that there is no restaurant. One can call out for service from a number of restaurants in the vicinity, though, and meals are delivered within ten-twenty minutes. The hotel wifi is good, though when I was visiting, there were some hiccups in the system, needing the router to be reset. The reception assists with that. I would recommend Santa Helena for those who want a reasonably priced alternative in a quiet and secure area.

Not worth the price
Reviewed By SalviexplorerIt is what you see in pictures. I have the same shots. Its worth giving three stars only. You only get secured parking, cleanliness and spectacular view of the ocean . Thats it! Don't expect anything more. Their food overpriced. If you ask for OJ refill, its extra. The beach in front of the property is inaccessible. You would have to go to El Majagual Beach. Which I don't recommend or El Zonte not recommend either. The whole Surf City area is overrated. The pool service is less than mediocre The pool itself becomes boring. It s very dark after sunset and pool service it non existing . The towel service is horrible. Depending on your party needs. You get cards that need to be exchanged at front desk every time you need towels or need to be returned after use. Making inconvenient when you are with wet swimming clothing. Also a hazard in the lobby area if you are wet. Never seen this policy in Cabo, Hawaii or other resorts. In Conclusion , you are just paying for the view of the ocean. If you stay overnight. Day pass is better recommend. Forgot! The service at the restaurant was excellent. I take my hat off for the crew.

Staff were amazingly helpful when we needed to procure a local Claro SIM card from the tienda up the street. Enormous bed was crazy comfortable. Short walk into town (1mi) to access La Paz surf break.

Wrong address on Expedia Site - they do not want to return the money
Reviewed By katt95PLThe object has two accounts on expedia, hotels.com etc. In one of them they put an address the propety is in Mayen, Germany. This is where we booked this hotel as well. After trying to go ther, it turned out that the hotel does not exist. I tried to contact the hotel, however they only speak Spanish. I speak a little Spanish but they were not able to help me. Also I tried to write an email to them but the adress that I found ([email protected]) seems wrong because they didn't get the email. After everything I realized the real hotel address is in San Salvadore In Mexico. So another continent is a huuuuuge different. I am unable to contact with the property for a refund. Also my travel agent are unable to contact with them. They are cheating people.

Bad experience
Reviewed By jaimemA7184UDThis morning I made a reservation, the host never replied to my inquiry nor did she approve my booking request. I got to the place and was told there were shared rooms available, I walked in and registered myself, the girl even made a receipt with my name, she said I'd be the only one in the room because no one had reserved it. At this point since the host had not bottered in replying or accepting my request, I decided to cancel and pay with my credit cars in the place directly but the girl did not know how to charge it. When I came back from the sea, I was told the room was booked and was offered a more expensive room. The host said she did not look at airbnb reservations at all, that she did not like it because it was more trouble than benefit. I felt angry and decided to leave the place. She should be taken off airbnb. This is unfair and it was not a good experience at all. Rooms have access to lockers, they lack the padlocks, so the lockers are useless, when you ask the staff about the padlocks, they show little interest and blame it on the owner, when you ask the owner, they blame it on the staff and say everyone should bring their own padlock, ridiculous way of not being organized, unresponsible owner.

We arrived after 12+ hours of traveling on the chicken busses from Honduras to be told that the price we were promised through booking.com was not the correct price and that it would be approx. 20% more for the fees etc (this obviously is not the case). They also try to get you to cancel the booking for a 83 dollar fee which will not be waved.... We had no choice but to stay there as there were no other options available to us. After leaving we received an email from booking.com saying that our booking had been canceled - this means that the hotel is charging the fees twice and not even paying them. The place is a scam and you should avoid. The pool area is very nice but don't be drawn in by this. The bathroom in the rooms is disgusting, we had mould and spiders webs, the shower did not drain and the rooms aren't cleaned between nights from what other guests told us. When we tried to leave for dinner we couldn't lock the room so had to change - the key of our first room also unlocked our second room so the whole site is unsecure. The "super breakfast" we hoped would redeem the hotel somewhat turned out to be 2 small slices of toast and a few mouthfuls of chopped watermelon and pineapple - we had to go into town for a breakfast. We moved to another hotel the next few nights which was half the price and twice as good. Please avoid this hotel, it is a huge scam and should not be allowed to operate in this way.
