A wonderful stay during the pandemic

Since 2004, I've traveled each year with a group from Washington D.C. Ethical Society to visit El Salvador. Nearly every time we've come, Oasis has been our go-to place to rest, refresh and get ready to go to work with our friends in Cabanas. Due to Covid, we have not been able to travel for two years running. Last November, we decided to make the trip and we are so glad that we did. The staff at the Oasis gave us a warm welcome. They took great care to always have masks on and gave us great information for our travels. We felt totally cared for and safe. And they have upped their game. The food was delectable and the beautiful plants and paintings are out of this world. We hope to return in June and will make Oasis a part of our journey.

This is a hotel located near the National University, it is small but very comfortable. The owners are very nice and the staff very helpful. The fee includes breakfast that it is prepared according to your liking. The cook is very good, breakfast is delicious and home made! If you decide to stay there choose one of the rooms in the back of the house, the one close to the street is very nice but it gets too noisy at night with the traffic from the street

Family Sunday Fun Day

We went to this place on a Sunday for a family fun day and it was a great choice. We had a blast. Its a good place for children and for laidback people. The service is good, frozen drinks are fantastic but food can use some improvement. This place is non pretencious, make sure you arrive early to get a great “ Glorieta” and dont forget the “ Hamacas”.This place is approximately 30-45 mins drive from San Salvador.

Far from everything

Reviewed By joselyn715

The hostel is located in a gated community. We took an uber, so it was somewhat straightforward to find (GPS helps). The hostel is also home to a family who uses the living room area/kitchen/dining rooms for personal use. The kitchen was often closed when the family was in there, and we felt awkward knocking to get our food and then putting it back. They had their dresser there, and it felt that's where they got ready for school/bed/etc. (the kitchen was closed a lot) Also, there was not a way to label your food to keep it separate from the family/guests. There were two packed fridges, and we barely found space for our leftovers. There also were not any guests when we stayed. There was construction going from very early on. The pool was not filled in case you were wondering. The rooms are quite spacious and were relatively clean. We were about to go to bed and realized ants were crawling under the sheets. Wifi was decent, but it did not work in our room. The breakfast was ok. For the price, it works but not much of a "hostel vibe" if that's what you're looking for.

Amazing

Reviewed By N3196WYannag

This is by far the best Hotel I have ever stayed at. The pictures on the website don’t do the property justice. My family (1 year old, 3 year old, 21 year old, and husband) & I recently stayed for a week and the experience was amazing. Here are some key details I want to share. The breakfast is authentic, healthy, and prepared by a chief. Breakfast came with fresh squeezed orange juice and freshly made cashew milk. This isn’t something you would find in America. The hotel has security that watches over your cars (we rented one). The security will also walk out into the road and stop traffic without us having to ask him. The cleaning ladies are amazing! We had a ton of wet clothes (from the lake & beach) that needed to be dried before packing. The cleaning lady hung our clothes out to dry and rotated them while we were out exploring. We told her we needed some hangers so that WE could do it. She was so kind enough to do it for us! My son threw one of his metal Paw Patrol cars into the tiny pond they have. For those of you who don’t know. The special edition Paw Patrol true metal cars can only be bought in a pack (we paid $45). It was a bummer but we obviously explained that the pond was deep and we couldn't get it out. Our son asked us if we would try, so we went and bought a pole to try and get it out (we try to teach our kids to try and problem solve. The car obviously was worth it to my son). The staff told us not to worry that they would try. The pond was like 6ft deep…but after 3-4 days they got it out!!! We were so grateful!! The hotel overall was so clean! The garden outside has tables that you can eat breakfast or lunch at. It is so beautiful. Makes it feel like you are eating in the middle of a mountain. They have a small market inside and a juice/ smoothie bar. The juice/smoothie bar was so amazing. All local & fresh products! After a long day of exploring, coming back and being able to order a smoothie was so refreshing. The TV is equipped with youtube and netflix for younger children. It is close to a lot of great eating spots. If you are looking for a place that gives you “El Salvador” this is the place to stay at. Your kids will have a blast exploring their garden area while you eat. It also makes a good location for cool pictures.

I recently stayed at Hostal Cumbres del Volcan for a couple of nights. It is very basic but also a budget accomodation. It had a very easy going atmosphere and I enjoyed meeting the other people staying at this hostal. The highlight were Roxana and Juliam who work there. They treated me like family and could not do enough to make my stay enjoyable. I hope to go back to San Salvador and I would certainly stay here again.

Comfortable, clean, courteous all in one

Reviewed By Sasha D

My family stayed here for the last 3 nights of our trip. We randomly just walked in, 8pm at night, with our taxi driver as we scouted for hotels.Reception was warm, friendly and spoke great English. One look at our room and after backpacking for 7 days we were happy to spend the rest of our trip here. Best room we stayed in El sal- very clean, modern, comfortable, great selection of tv channels (esp for our 5 yr old), amazing AC, complimentary water bottles. Breakfast was tasty, one plate of food per person. Although we felt safe in the day, we wouldn't walk around at night. Not much around to do but we took local buses/vans to get around. There is an artisan market nearby. Reception was excellent - very helpfu with all our needs. Impressed at English! Maids were friendly and did awesome job cleaning our rooms. Aiport transfer was $25, amazing considering we had to leave at 530am. Highly suggest this hotel for all the creature comforts.

We were only here for one night after arriving from the airport in the evening. The hotel is located in the really safe area of the city. We walked out to the food plaza a few blocks down and felt safe. The rooms are basic but clean. Our only complaint was that the hot water tap in the sink didnt work which made shaving a challenge going back and forth from the shower . Breakfast was OK with options of pancakes and fruit among a few other options. Service was always very good and the staff were really friendly ! Stayed here 3rd March

Weird service level at the restaurant

Reviewed By 330lak

Breakfast - It wasn’t bad as such; but 10USD for 3 flat bacon strips and overcooked scrambled eggs - that’s too much but you could say “whatever” But being charged extra because I asked for milk in my coffee - that is just Silly and rubbish service.
