Kutaisi (Georgian: ქუთაისი [kʰutʰɑisi]; ancient names: Aea/Aia, Kotais, Kutatisi, Kutaïsi) is the legislative capital of Georgia, and its 3rd most populous city. Situated 221 kilometres (137 miles) west of Tbilisi, on the Rioni River, it is the capital of the western region of Imereti. Historically one of the major cities of Georgia, it served as the capital of the Kingdom of Georgia in the Middle Ages, and later as the capital of the Kingdom of Imereti. The Parliament of Georgia moved to Kutaisi in 2012, in an effort to both acknowledge the status of the city, and to decentralise the Georgian government.

Lovely place with excellent food and service and good atmosphere. The call buttons for service on the tables are a great idea (hadnât seem them before). We had the giant grilled vegetable platter (of which we managed to eat 2/3s), plus ice cream for dessert. My only quibbles are the loud music and the comfortable but low chairs, too low for the tables. But those didnât detract from the food and service.

There are two problems with this wine-bar-shop for me personally. Firstly it is not cheap, but of course that is their prerogative and yours to walk away. But you WILL find Georgian wines that are substantially cheaper, not very far away. The second problem is a trickier one. My friend and I simply did not like any of the wines they had on offer. Now that may be down to our new-world taste-buds, so I am not going to knock them on it. But we DID find Georgian wines we liked elsewhere. That aside itâs a cool little spot with a friendly barman-assistant who seems knowledgeable and will allow you to work your way through their selection by tasting, until you hopefully find something you like. So itâs really up to you if you find something you like and are willing to pay a premium. Great spot for people-watching while you sip though!

We ate here while watching de cup final. Everything they served was really tasty and it's normal/cheap priced, but we had to ask almost everything twice after patiently waiting for half an hour. My meal didn't even arrive at all and after asking three times, I finally got it. (Oh and when there's no football, there is super loud music)

The staff is English speaking and is friendly but the music is too loud.The waitress must have been in love because she wrote down my order and even asked if I want the spinach and walnut salad to arrive with the main course but she brought e a chocolate lava cake instead which I ate anyway as it was quite good.

Turned up and decided to eat outside as it was smoky indoors. The menus were in English and the waitress spoke great English as well. The food was good and plentiful and the wine was of a high calibre as well. Great wee spot for some lunch.

lovely place! amazing interior, you just want to spend all day long in those walls. great service, good wine and tasty meals. a MUST GO on Kutaisi map, definitively. I have to say this place does not even match this city, it is 1000000% better than all the places around, highly recommended! and live music <3

We had a lovely time here! We were desperate to have hinkali and after unsuccessful tries we found Aura. Vakho made our visit very special, we were recommended a delicious schmeruli dish which Georgians enjoyed for hundreds of years. Of course hinkali was beautiful, i had 6, but could probably eat a whole tray! Really loved the traditional salad with walnuts, cucumbers and tomatoes, even repeated the order. Also weâve got a special treat, homemade wine by Vakho! Such a joyful evening! Thank you Vakho and Aura team!

The numerous good reviews Hacker-Pshorr garnishes are well-founded as this place delivers a solid eveningâs entertainment and gastronomic delight. Despite it having a âtourist-centricâ reputation we only saw locals that evening. We started off at the bar where tenderâs Giga and Irakli entertained us with friendly banter and good local beer. And eventually they persuaded us to sample some authentic Georgian dishes that are excellent. We sat at a table and were served by the lovely Ani who delivered their Khinkali (Dumplings) that are absolutely top-notch mouth-watering and other traditional edibles whoâs names escape me. My advice is to just sit-back and let them provide your taste-buds with food and drink. You will not be disappointed. The place is beautiful , you can sit in the yard or inside the building depending on your wish, the food is unforgettable, you can taste Georgian and European dishes here.
