Terrible. They lied and ripped off our money.
Reviewed By Iori1445We stayed 10 days in Ushguli village. We were ripped off by their car service. We paid 300 Lari for the taxi form Ushguli to Kutaisi. They promised us to bring us from Ushguli to Mestia, then transfer to the next taxi that take us from Mestia to Kutaisi. But actually, the taxi driver from Mestia who said he only received 100 Lari and he dropped us at Zugudidi (2 hours away from Kutaisi). First taxi (the driver's name is Oto) was shared with local people, second taxi was shared with 2 other travelers. From Zugdidi, they refused to take us any further and put us on the local bus to Kutaisi. What a terrible experience! We really are disappointed that people in Ushguli village only think to get the money out of tourist without honest hospitality. It's sad and we would not want to go back again.

Cozy stay
Reviewed By DtaylorhWe had a wonderful stay at Villa Lelio. Ushguli is so unique and breathtaking. This is a remote village and we were pleasantly surprised by our stay here. The hotel is run by a local family and everyone was kind and welcoming. Our room was very clean and comfortable. The bed was comfortable and warm as it got quite cold at night. Breakfast and dinner were included in our stay and were great. Dinner was huge with a large variety of Georgian salads, soups, dishes etc. I'd definitely stay here again if I returned to Ushguli.

Sleep in a real Ushguli tower!
Reviewed By Sarah1234561Wonderful small guesthouse, which is integrated in an original Ushguli tower, with an accommodating host and good facilities (including a sun terrace). The owner also runs a small bar just up the hill with cold beer and amazing views.

This place is as crappy, as the scenery is worth the view
Reviewed By Raymond HDuring the first nights we were asked if we would like to have dinner at their place. Since we have travelled quite a bit prior to arrival we agreed. What a pity. For GEL 20 each you can have good dinner around the corner. After a disappointing dinner, we went to bed, the comfort of the bed was so-so at maximum. Even though we had a luxury room. The difference between a regular room and the luxury is a window to the outside world, normal rooms don't have a window! In the morning, for breakfast we were served pasta, French fries, rice and so on, we have experienced having these dishes for breakfast more often in Georgia, however, not with such poor quality. Good thing though, upon request the bread was changed from 'western factory style'-bread to fresh Georgian bread and the eggs were fine in the morning. With four rooms, there were two cabins containing a toilet and shower. The shower makes everything wet, including the toilet. During the last night we stayed at this place, another couple booked the 'comfort room', meaning one the cabins was shut down for the three other rooms. We were happy to leave the day after. The staff arranged a marshrutka for us to Mestia, we agreed GEL 150 for the whole car. However, we picked up some other people and then the price only got higher, instead of the share for us to become lower. In general, this place promises more than it is able to provide. The staff doesn't speak any English, although promised on our booking website. To conclude, it is way too expensive. You don't pay for what your get here. Move somewhere else instead.

Reviewed By Дмитрий КХороший гестхаус с потрясающим видом на горы!!!!! В каждом номере своё окно, из которого открывается панорама на Шхару. Номера новые с удобными кроватями и очень тёплыми (что важно) одеялами, все очень мило, на тумбочке даже стоит свечка (что очень важно). С террасы отличный вид на деревню. У хозяев есть все возможные животные - собака, лошади, козы, овцы, свиньи, куры и т.п Все они пасутся вокруг гестхауса . Гестхаус стоит на самом высоком месте, благодаря этому является самым видовым местом проживания. Все новое, чистое и опрятное. Есть место где поставить машину. Утром хозяйка покормила вкусным завтраком из местных продуктов за 15 лари с человека. Минусы: Сложно забраться на машине на гору, где расположен гестхаус даже после серпантина который перед Ушгули. В унитазе сильно шумит вода, так как постоянно течет. Вечером перебои со светом, все мигает, как стробоскоп, в помощь свеча с тумбочки и фонарики на телефонах, или можно сойти с ума Нерегулируемая вода в душе, невозможно нормально помыться - либо кипяток/либо холодная Ночью было холодно - тёплые одеяла спасали Нападение домашних животных: утром нашу машину окружили свиньи и начали со всей силы!!!! тереться/чесаться об неё, тем самым поцарапали бока машины.

Einfach und schlicht, aber gut
Reviewed By FredoG11Ein ordentlich ausgestattetes Guesthouse am Ende der Welt mit ordentlichen Zimmern und Sanitärausstattung. Die Verpflegung ist ebenso lobenswert und sehr üppig und vielfältig. Die Lage ist sehr gut mit ordentlichem Panoramablick.

It’s the real Georgia
Reviewed By xClark-GriswoldxI just finished three nights at the Hotel Tekla in Ushguli. The hotel, or guesthouse is part of a working farm. It’s cold. It’s rustic. Don’t expect much and you will be pleasantly surprised. The rooms have no heat, but the shower was hot. The wifi sometimes works, sometimes doesn’t. I loved the place. I got up the second morning and there was a horse outside the entrance. It was wonderful. The food in the restaurant was the best I’ve had in Georgia. The family operating the Tekla tries really hard. Go with an open mind and don’t expect standard comforts. It also helps if you grew up in the countryside. I loved the place and would be happy to stay there again..

terrible place
Reviewed By hana fthe house is very old and neglected. Nobody takes care of the rooms. The bed was , impossible to sleep on, there was an uncovered electricity point, it was impossible to make tea and to charge the mobile phone, wifi works only through her mobile, Food is very basic. I don't recommend this place! there are many other beautiful guesthouses in Ushguli.
