I stopped with a friend on a busy Friday night with a wait time of 30 minutes. I tried the roast beef sandwich with chips and it was very good. I also had a cup of their chicken wing soup and it was wonderful. My friend liked his chicken fingers. We washed the food down with a couple of craft beers and we also enjoyed the peanuts and popcorn offered for free.

Tavern at Windsor Park

A local owned hometown tavern offering American and English Fare, along with a huge selection of craft beers and sports viewing!

Reviewed By Rick S

Tavern at Windsor Park has most of the usual gastronomical pleasures we associate with US bar food but Windsor includes a fare selection of delicacies from the British Pub as well. Not always associating Shepherd Pie as a favorite is OK but who am I to deny my fellow patrons the joys of experiencing a true English favorite. They manage to blend the two cuisines into a perfect experience. Along with the decidedly British decor and way more draft beers than most US bars would normally offer makes it feel somewhat like a authentic London Pub, forget that your in the heart of East Amherst on Transit Road. The service was friendly and attentive on Friday, go a bit early unless your fond of waiting for a table.I enjoyed a true Buffalo delicacy of Beef on Weck and fries with more than one of their generous draft beers.A, group I belong to had dinner here recently. 40+ member were all satisfied with the food and service which is a rather difficult task considering their diverse backgrounds. The Tavern fills a niche that has missing on the Buffalo food scene and does so in a relaxed and comfortable atmosphere.Who knows you may even come to appreciate British pub food.Hello Rick, Thank you so much for taking the time to leave us a review! We strive to offer our guests a quality, unique dining experience from the dishes we serve to the level of customer service we provide. We're thrilled to have hit the mark during your time with us. Thank you again for your feedback and we hope to welcome you again soon!

I liked the ambiance; it was cozy, clean and pleasant. The food was excellent. They had a little of everything on the buffet. Everyone was amicable, professional and pleasant. I was sitting close by to a fountain that made the whole ambiance more relaxing and nice to be in. I will visit this place a lot more often.

Went here for lunch on "taco Tuesday" and got 2 taco's for a very reasonable price. I ordered the blackened fish tacos that came with avocado and then you can add what you want at the taco bar. Delicious. This is a very casual place, industrial feeling with friendly wait staff. Lots of beer and drink choices also. I'd come again!

I recently had lunch here with a group of friends. The service was attentive and the food was good. I had a sandwich wrap with fries. It was tasty and was of the quality that you could get at most any restaurant of this caliber. I ordered coffee with my meal.My server asked if I would like a refill, and I said yes, I would like a warmup. She came back with a new coffee cup and filled it. When I received my check, I was surprised to find that I was charged for two cups of coffee! I paid this charge without comment, since I was dining with friends. I tipped only 15%, instead of my usual 20%. I was quite taken by this charge, which is very unusual in local restaurants. I realized that it was not the server's fault, and was with the fault of management. I had to respond in some way.Given the fact that there is so much restaurant competition along this stretch of Transit Road in Amherst, I do hope that management addresses this problem. This upcharge for coffee is very unusual and will prevent me from suggesting restaurant as a venue for a friends gathering.Thank you for your feedback. We are happy to hear that your food and service was positive with the one exception, as far as the double charge for the coffee that was a mistake on the servers part because we do not charge for refills. We would like to sincerely apologize for the server making that mistake and would love to talk to you if you have a chance please call the restaurant at 716-688-4479 at you convenience. Please ask for Justin (the owner). Again thank you for taking the time out of your day and writing a review on us we greatly appreciate hearing about your experience and look forward to serving you again in the future.

Took the hubby for steak on his birthday. I had the pretzel crusted chicken. Both were excellent. Service great too. If you like bourbon, scotch, and Canadian or American whiskey, there is a large selection. All food coming out to other tables looked great too. Definitely a keeper on our list. Thank you very much for writing such a great review, and for coming and checking out The Oak Stave. We truly appreciate your business and can't wait to have you come back to try some other menu options we have. Thank you.

We found this restaurant near a church where we attended a concert; what a great find. There were 5 of us so we tried many different things, and none of us were disappointed. Our waitress was a very friendly, knowledgable young lady. This is authentic german food, so good. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone.

First visit but definitely not the last. There were so many inviting entrees it made picking one difficult. We tried 3 different burgers, all cooked as requested, juicy and piled high with variety of different toppings. Chicken Caprese...enough for a 2nd meal and Black & Blue Steak salad, tender & delicious. Also, a nice children's menu and a very extensive draft beer menu.

We had not been here in a few years so we stopped with relatives in town. Three of our group went for burgers and liked them. They are so large my wife took half home for another day. The onion wings and fries are tasty. I had their very average beer battered fish fry plus their good but luke warm chicken corn chowder. Our waitress was very friendly and efficient and the place has a fun, but noisy, atmosphere.
