King Asian Buffet

Most Chinese restaurants are more American than truly Chinese, but King Asian Buffet actually serves a few truly authentic Chinese dishes. I love their red bean paste rolls especially and of course my favorite, sesame balls. It is fine for kids with plenty of seating and a friendly helpful staff. Served buffet style and all-you-can-eat. They also make sushi on the spot. A little bit on the spendy side. Oh, and you can get take-out by weight.

9. Kim’s Korean BBQ

If you are in search of delicious and authentic Korean cuisine/BBQ, THIS PLACE IS IT! Quietly tucked away amongst other businesses, Kim’s is a complete surprise for quality ethnic food in Wasilla, a town not exactly known for places like this. The dining room is very clean, with nice, prompt, and friendly table service! We will definitely be back! Many thanks Kim and staff!

This restaurant is fairly new in the area – not open quite two years yet. It's nicely decorated inside of a larger warehouse building. Currently they do not possess a beer and wine license but this is coming very soon. There's a couple of rather prominent issues that I could observe. I was there from at least 2 1/2 hours and in that time frame there are about three/ four tables that were never cleaned off after patrons departing and it was during the entire time I was there. If I had walked in later and seen three or four dirty tables not having any attention to them, that would put me right off my meal.I don't mind waiting for food at all... however, when the soup came to us both the fresh mushrooms and the onions were still very crunchy and quite raw. They do a great job of obviously not using any any MSG and keeping to gluten-free which is great for those of us that have that concern. Obviously things are made fresh which is great and I would want my spring rolls to be absolutely very fresh. They were delicious- see the picture of them. But I didn't appreciate that the soup had no depth of flavour or umami taste. The chicken had obviously been cooked separately and then added to the raw onions and the raw mushrooms in the soup so the flavours were not encompassing... The server did a great job of making sure that things are not too spicy and we were asked about the levels – very much appreciated.Instead of actually bringing out food on a tray they use a cart. Not a problem – less likely for any droppage – but the same cart is used for clearing away dirty dishes and I could tell that there was not enough time between the few that were cleared to cleaning off the cart to bring out new plates of food. That's a little un-enchanting when considering that peoples utensils and dirty plates are just that – dirty. Clean and dirty should not be intermingled. I would've rated this higher stars it not been for the few things witnessed. Other patrons came in after us also waited quite significantly before they were served so obviously they need to bump up a little in the front of the house and obtain more assistance. I'll probably go back in six months and try it again.

Peking Chinese Restaurant

Reviewed By Auntie-Nanuuq

We ate here June 25th, and I regret that decision....Although the portions on the "daily special" dinners are ample, the price is outrageous for quality received.... $18.95 for basic chicken & beef dish. In any California Chinese Restaurant the price would have been 1/2 of what this place charges....The soup was weak (almost water), egg drop? Mostly a watery broth, a few pieces of vegetable, and only 2/3 of a bowl..... The cheapest item and you get less than a full bowl. Both of my entrees tasted the same, only one was more spicy than the other......The food was all spooned on one plate and the presentation was similar to a mess hall... very unattractive....Thankfully, I'll never have to eat here again......

Tokyo Restaurant & Sushi Bar

We really like dining at Tokyo. Service is always good and their food is excellent. We really enjoy trying the different specialty rolls. It's fun to set at the bar for Sushi, Saki or Japanese beer, kind of reminds me of restaurants in Japan. Our kids like the Japanese dishes with Miso soup and hot tea.

Sakura looks like a little hole-in-the-wall place but the food is consistently yummy! We regularly eat here and are always satisfied. The staff is nice, the sushi is tasty and if you aren't into that they have a wide variety of other Asian dishes to choose from as well. Definitely recommend for a casual enjoyable meal.

Pho Vatsana

Reviewed By CheffK

We stopped in here for dinner last week really craving some Thai food.Have to say the service was absolutely wonderful – the gentleman (that may have owned it) was very attentive, kind and gracious. The fresh spring rolls were absolutely delightful and they were conscientious enough to even enquire about allergies and made sure that the peanuts stayed off of the sauce. They brought an extra sauce for me having a peanut allergy.Unfortunately that was the only delicious part of the rest of the entire meal. Because it was chilly out I really wanted some hot soup so I ordered the children's pho with chicken. I'm not sure if they're using a packet that contains a type of style/powdered fish – salty mix? The scent of it was quite disgusting and the chicken that was put into it was very stale and rubbery – obviously overcooked. There's an old saying – "hunger is good kitchen". If we hadn't been so hungry, we probably would have returned everything, left and found something else.Hoping the other meals coming would be a little bit more pleasing though, we continued on. My spouse ordered the pad Thai – classic dish. He doesn't remember reading that tofu would be included in the mix but again the chicken was the same – overcooked, stale/rubbery. They also automatically added sprinkled peanuts to the top of the dish so there is no way that I could try it but given that the soup and my dish also had the same type of chicken that looked again, well-overdone and tasted terrible, I'm not surprised he wasn't happy with it. I ordered a Larb salad and it was exceptionally spicy! I wasn't asked if I wanted it to be so spicy and therefore it was a little disheartening to be served that. They don't have a beer and wine license at present and he said something about the kids coming in from school? It sounds like they're not interested in pursuing a license as the high school is very close. (This seems exceptionally odd to me because they're not catering to high school students but the general public.). So we ordered two, Thai iced teas and they were extremely – overbearingly sweet. I ended up adding over at least half my water glass to mine to tone the sweetness down. The restaurant was extremely chilly and we commented about how uncomfortable we were so the only consolation in the spicy large salad and heated me up to such a point but I didn't feel the discomfort of the atmosphere. There were a couple of TV screens up and they were playing something on National Geographic…?? I'm not sure if that was for the young man doing his homework at the back end of the restaurant or if that was supposed to be for us patrons?? Either way it was very weird to sit in a restaurant and listen to a documentary. The service was impeccable - thank you for that. You were very kind but the food was just absolutely unacceptable. I'm very sorry to say that we will not be putting this on our list as a place to return to in the future. Proceed with caution.I really tried to give restaurants the benefit of the doubt, in case they're having an off night but honestly there are too many hiccups on this one to give it a good review and for that I'm sorry. I have eaten at many places in North America and Europe and I've never quite had anything of this sort. Disappointing. Wasilla needs better places to eat not less. :<<<

Let's be honest. It's hard to find good Asian food in the Valley that is consistent quality, have fair portions, fresh, and completely reasonable prices. They're also quick! This place has yet to disappoint me. Their lunch specials are flavorful and the addition of vegetables (gasp!) with the entres are delicious. It's a small and cozy place with great service. I've tried the orange chicken, almond chicken, Mongolian beef, deep fried sushi and chicken chow mein. Can't wait to go back and try more of the entres!

Basil Ginger

Five of us went to dinner at Basil Ginger. We tried a wide variety of dishes including San Sing Wor mein, green curry with prawns, general tsao's chicken with lo mein, and summer sashimi spring rolls. All was really good, prices are reasonable, the dining area is beautiful. Service was excellent and pretty fast. They have a great variety of Chinese, Thai, sushi, and other Asian dishes including even New York and rib eye steak. I would venture to say there is something for everyone if you like Asian food at all. They have a limited wine list, but our Cabernet was very good and the price reasonable. Make a reservation because it looks like it gets pretty crowded. Would happily go back.
