I think I'd call this a hole-in-the-wall. As we drove up and when we walked through the door, the place is nothing special. It's raw cement floors, false ceiling tiles and cheap faux wood tables. The people behind the counter make this place special. The gentleman making our sandwiches was polite, easy going and very helpful. Then you slide down to the left and run into the funniest character around. In what I might call a thick Cajun accent, he talks loud, makes faces, says crazy things, but it all fits. He had two customers rolling with laughter when they asked for drink refills. He had all three of us smiling and laughing as he poked at us. It was in great fun, so when we sat at the table, we were in a great mood.When the food arrived the good mood made the experience better. I give the flavors 3.5 to 4 stars. The muffaletta was filled with olive bits and sweet ham. The coleslaw was middle of the road. The pulled pork was moist with great flavors. My wife liked her build-your-own sandwich.I loved my visit, but I could see how the checkout guy could hit some people the wrong way. He's walking a fine line between funny, crazy and rude.

We were visiting from Florida. When we arrived, the hostesses were super nice and friendly. We were seated and had two glasses of water in front of us almost immediately. I thought, âWow, this is going to be great.â We ordered two iced teas which were also brought quickly and then everything went south. I will not elaborate on all of the petty details, but it took approximately 45 minutes for our food arrive. I will say the food was very good. I wish the service had been better.Hey! We are so sorry again about your experience. We should have communicated better and sooner about the backup in the kitchen and done more to make your experience less frustrating. Thank you for contacting us and helping us understand how we can be better.

What a fun place!! Lots of families seem to gather here after church. There was a buffet as well as ordering from a menu. A live musician played from a corner stage as well as wandering through the tables of diners.Service was friendly, helpful and excellent. Food was plentiful and very good.A fun, lively and friendly place. Try it!!!

My wife, two daughters and I went after church for Sunday brunch. The reviews looked good - the food and atmosphere lived up to its high ratings. The Eggs Benedict were very good, especially the barbecue version. A three-piece jazz band was playing - and then went around table by table. They requested favorite songs and playing for just for that table. Very classy place! I rarely review restaurants but the steak here was so good that I wanted to take the time to recommend them. The chili rubbed cowboy ribeye is incredible, absolutely incredible. My family and I were looking for a place to eat in Flowood and decided to try Half shell. We were very pleased with everything. New Orleans atmosphere, cajun cooking and great service. Our waitress Dorthea was attentive and prompt. Our 2 kids loved the food the food as much as we did. We will definitely return.

I stopped n Labor Day at the outside bar. It was very nice views of the reservoir and had a tropical like atmosphere. Lots of friendly people and servers. The food was good and reasonably priced. I would recommend the outside bar because of the atmosphere!Hi, Norman! We really appreciate these compliments.
