Mama Shelter Lille

Just steps away from Lille’s two major train stations and the Euralille business district, Mama Shelter Lille is centrally located, which allows travelers to easily explore the city. Each of Mama Lille's 112 rooms has been carefully designed by Jalil Amor to create a cozy shelter and offer the ideal combination of comfort and modernity. At any point in the night, the restaurant and bar welcome you with open arms, whether it be for a dance, to sip a cocktail or to indulge in a delicious homemade meal. A bonus feature of this Mama is the 180° view of the capital of Flanders. As always, Mama's thought of everything.

Mama Shelter was the ideal place for a weekend visit.

Loved the place made our first visit to a Lille relaxing. The breakfast was really plentiful and varied. We were impressed. The bathroom was nice, the TV free movies, the quality of the bedroom and bed was first class. The staff were friendly. The location was practical to see Lille, the distance from the Eurostar station was walkable. We will return.

Aiden by Best Western T'Aim Hotel

a very nice stay!

Reviewed By Oschausbonn

GOOD: Room furnishings, carpet matches the furniture wonderfully, everything Nordic-chic, comfortable bed, very good pillows, excellent wifi! Friendly staff, great location on the water (definitely book river side with balcony!) Free parking, coffee 4 capsules in the room, left a very good impression! I will recommend this hotel and am already looking forward to the next visit in May, June this year. NOT GOOD: Showering in the tub is only possible for people < 1,80 M in a stooped position, because the rainforest shower hangs quite low. Even without this shower head, you have to bend down because the hose is only very short. The water in the hand basin only gets a little warm after several minutes (in fact, it takes almost 4 minutes with the water running....), whereas the water in the tub only takes the usual seconds to do so. By the way, I always wonder about the point of integrating a rainforest shower into a bathtub? A rainforest shower belongs in a shower so that you can experience this "effect". Standing at an angle in the bathtub with a distance of only a few centimetres from the wall is completely pointless for a rainforest shower.....

Lovely hotel

Reviewed By Kristinpaulson

We were here for a wonderful week. This is a great place to stay and the hotel has a relaxed elegance. You feel as though you are really experiencing this lovely part of France. It was a good location for day trips to the nearby cities and WWI history. St Valery sur Mer is close and full of shops and restaurants.

Avoid this total dump! Rubbish hotel and overpriced.

Reviewed By Jules C

Due to Ferry delay at Dunquerque we needed to stay overnight. Found this “hotel” on the sat nav. Noisy, smelly, dirty and very unhelpful gentleman at reception. No breakfast provided and price was crazy. Too tired to argue so we stayed. Rubbish. The sign reads “Brit Hotel”. With a little creative graffiti, “Brit” could easily be re-written “Sh#t”. Avoid this place.

Une belle adresse pour des nuits au calme et des petits déjeuners sympas !

Reviewed By R4093PWpascale

Great place and wonderful hosts

Reviewed By Mark L

A friend and I needed accommodation for a racehorse and ourselves after bad weather prevented our ferry travel. At night and at very short notice the owners had a stable ready for our filly. They opened up the cottage for my friend and myself and they provided us with a lovely dinner. They could not have been more welcoming, helpful and nice. The stables are excellent, quiet and roomy, the cottage was very good and comfortable, the dinner was delicious and it was an absolute pleasure to be in their company. Unfortunately the weather was horrible (in January) so we couldn't enjoy the countryside. I would recommend it highly whether you have a horse or not.

La Cite Suspendue

Walkers lost in an ancient forest have discovered the entrance to a forgotten city, the remains of an ancient civilisation known as the Cite Suspendue (Hanging City)! The Celts who lived there worshipped trees and nature, and existed in perfect harmony with the spirits of the forest. All the hamlets in the suspended city are built on stilts to protect the flora and fauna.

An oasis in the forrest which travels you back in time

Reviewed By Elena A

Don't miss the chance to stay in this hotel while you visit Parc Asterix. It will travel you back in time with the setting, the music, the staff. The buffet dinner is a feast, like the Gaulois banquet. The rooms are fantastic and spacious, with separate room for the children. The location in the forest is very serene and very close on foot to the parc through a back entrance available for the hotels only.I would definetely recommend it and I dream of going back.

Great for a one night stay

Reviewed By Sam D

Modern, chic suite / apartment about 5/10 minutes from the town centre, lovely and quiet, but does look a little rough. Great for a short stop over but not for a longer stay. Train station 5 minute walk, we drove and there is no parking nearby except pay and display bays which is not great, however, it was Bastille day so parking free for the day. Boulangerie a couple of minutes away and a selection of mini super markets all within a short walk. The suite, African themed came with clarins products, lovely touch, the mini bar / fridge is stocked with some drinks and food for you to leave them some money in return. Tassimo coffee maker and short supply of tea, coffee and local shops didn't stock any replacements so ended up buying a kettle as needed more than two cups of tea. Lovely jacuzzi, spa bath and walk in rain shower. Cupboard space is limited, hairdryer but no iron hence great for a stopover. There are no windows so for some it will feel claustrophobic, albeit it is spacious, you are in the basement of converted barracks, very clean and neat. No English channels on the TV, didn't bother me as don't watch it but boyfriend a bit disappointed. Great experience but wouldn't stay again as there are lots more places to try. Liked Amiens itself and would try a more traditional hotel next time should I visit.
