Not the Greatest Experience

Reviewed By Mary K

We spent six nights here. The location, right across from the beach, was good. The bed was comfortable. Be prepared to bring your own towels for showering (kind of a problem when one comes from the USA for a vacation), your own hair dryer, and your own toilet paper. Only ONE roll is furnished for the entire week. No kitchen towels either. Be prepared to buy your own paper towels. We asked for a bath mat so we didn't have to step on a slipper floor after getting out of the shower. (One would think this would be furnished without having to ask for it.) The shower drain was slow, so during the course of the shower the water piled up. The hall carpet was very untidy with noticeable dirt lying there for a few days before anyone cleaned it. For the price, I would definitely find another place next time.

This place is hootin and a tootin!

Garret & Kate were fantastic hosts at their Wild West themed homestead. We booked for one night as part of our French road trip and we were not disappointed - it was a real treat to go back in time with some creature comforts thrown in. If you want something different and unique I would definitely recommend this place as it’s truly a little gem 20 mins from Le Mans.

Stopped in our Motorhome

Returned to this site after 10 years and it was still the same very clean and friendly site. Although the pool area was closed as there season was finishing, we were told that pool for the camp site opposite could be used. Every late afternoon the gate at the bottom of the site was opened where holiday home owners enjoyed a game of boules. We would take a drink over to watch and enjoy. Parking in St. Jean was relatively easy with a Motorhome. The site is ACSI so off season discounts apply.

Great food

Reviewed By ChrisHWoking

This hotel in the centre of town opposite public parking provided us with a comfortable nights stay and a really good evening meal. The decor is striking and effective in red black and white and this theme ran through the dining room and bedrooms. The restaurant was quite full although not many guests seemed to be staying at the hotel and were presumably local. The food was excellent and included amuse bouche and we tried the aperitif cocktail of the night which was excellent Although Service was a bit staid it worked and certainly was not intrusive. The room was adequate and the bed comfortable and was relatively cheap. The meal was excellent and more pricey but again good value We would certainly consider staying here again if travelling in the area

Great Place to Stay for MotoGP of Le Mans

Reviewed By DUCMILLE

It's been almost one year since we left Phillipe and Martin at Le Vivier, and I miss Martin's wonderful breakfast with her homemade rhubarb jam and some of the best coffee I've ever had. Realize that as an American I'm used to LARGE cups of coffee; Phillipe serves you coffee by the pot! Truly heaven for a coffee lover. The room is large even by Western standards, and has that authentic French country charm that so many travelers look for, but rarely find. They have horses, dogs and cats on the property for a true Country living experience. Staying here makes you feel like you've suddenly become an aristocrat. The location takes you away from the noise of the city, but keeps you with an easy 15 minutes from Centre Le Mans. We live in the country in the USA and this was a perfect transition. Phillipe is one of the most gracious hosts that I've ever encountered and went out of his way to accommodate us. Both he and his wife Martin were charming and added to our stay. I would definitely stay here again. · Being hyper-critical, my only complaint is that the Wi-Fi could be stronger.
