Reviewed By 650lynettehWe checked in at 11pm and by 8:30 they came banging on the door didn’t wait for anyone to answer so he unlocked the door and started to just walk in... smoke detector beeped all nite because they didn’t have anyone to fix it didn’t have another room for us.. then the maids were outside our door just have a whole conversation while we were trying to sleep a little longer... I believe they should t come knocking on doors for checkouts till around 10am some ppl travel till weee hrs of the morning then decide to stop for sleep

Reviewed By louh324We have an upcoming trip in June and have been trying to make dining and resort reservations. Despite multiple calls, someone is always "so sorry" or "going to look into it" or "going to call us back" however they never do. Not once. Multiple requests for dining and special events (Father's Day BBQ) are just totally ignored, and as of now we may be arriving and unable to book anything because of the hotel's failure to follow up. If there service is this bad now, I can only imagine what it will be when we get there.

Highgate Estate & Gardens is a bed & breakfast with two acres of gardens and walkways and an historic house dating from 1810. We have six spacious bedrooms; five in the Manor House, one in the separate Groom’s Cottage. Queen size beds are in each room. A full breakfast is served. We are just a short walk to antique stores, restaurants and our local craft beer brewery, Oconee Brewing Company.

Reviewed By stant441We recently stayed at the Highgate because it was conveniently located and found it to be delightful. The house and rooms are beautifully decorated and the hosts were very gracious and accommodating. The breakfasts were delicious. We would definitely stay again.

Reviewed By Meander227601Though I did receive eventually a full refund with a little bit of help from my attorney sister having a talk with the front desk after they refused me a full refund, here is what you can expect at this hotel. The photos I have provided are fairly self-explanatory. However they were only the tip of the iceberg of the filth you can expect to see at this hotel. I want you to look at their advertised photos of the room. This is a clear case of false advertising. It is a catfish scenario in hotel form. Note the large tube televisions in all of their cleans spiffy Hotel posted images. Those room photos have to be at least 25 years old. There are no tube televisions. That's called false advertising and definitely dates those photos as images from years ago! The hotel is absolutely not in that condition today. I will be following up my review here with a complaint to the fire department and the Board of Health. Hotel Owner: Please be advised, duping consumers is against the law! Offering rooms that are hazardous based on covid-19 sanitation standards is illegal. These rooms cannot be safely sanitized in their present condition. This hotel needs to be shut down for the safety of the public. Absent smoke detectors is going to cause deaths in the event of a fire and you will be to blame.
